We're seeking an experienced, detail-oriented payroll professional with technical aptitude and a leader mindset to join the Payroll team as a Lead Payroll Analyst. The Lead Payroll Analyst is an essential member of the Payroll Team and performs a broad range of duties to help ensure the timely and accurate delivery of payroll to our employees.

What You'll Do

As a Lead Payroll Analyst you will:

  • Oversee and coordinate payroll administration in accordance with all agreements and compliance requirements to ensure associates are paid timely and accurately with appropriate deductions applied.
  • Develop, evaluate, and maintain procedures for processing payroll to ensure detection of errors and compliance with the IRS, court orders, and generally accepted accounting procedures.
  • Administer executive payroll including payroll taxes, general ledger journal entries, and regulatory compliance activities.
  • Maintain audit procedures and participate in pre- and post-payroll auditing and troubleshooting to identify issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Lead and provide guidance on the annual payroll tax budget, processing and filings to the IRS, state and local authorities Collaborate with finance to coordinate annual filings of compensation.
  • Lead and provide guidance in the recording, monitoring and reporting of all payroll related accounts including salary expenses and withholding for taxes, benefits, retirement contributions, and garnishment payments.
  • Maintain the Sentry travel expense policy and oversees the approvals for the travel expense reporting process.

Additionally, you will:

  • Oversee payroll issues, including researching and resolving payroll problems, processing manual pay adjustments and answering payroll related questions.
  • Works with internal and external auditors during audit processes throughout the year providing documents, reports and other payroll related credentials upon request.
  • Maintain procedures to ensure adequate documentation of payroll exceptions to ensure compliance.
  • Interpret new legislation impacting payroll and adheres to payroll best practices for the organization.
  • Conduct reviews and analysis of current payroll, benefits and tax procedures to address variances/issues and recommend and implement process improvements.
  • Collaborate extensively with finance, other human resources areas and IT.
  • Research and become a subject matter expert on Sentry payroll system features and functionality.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned from time to time

What it Takes

  • Bachelor's degree in financial services lor equivalent work experience
  • Minimum 5 years related work experience
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality of all company pay and benefits data. Customer service mindset and comfort in handling high-level executive inquiries
  • Strong accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to meet specific deadlines
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Workday experience is a plus
