We are looking for a Superintendent - Shipping, Quality, and Projects to join our California Operations team in Wilmington, California. This role is responsible for leading and managing working capital projects, as well as overseeing product shipping, warehousing, silos, and quality laboratory operations. You will provide leadership, direction, and support to the shipping, warehousing, silos, and quality laboratory areas, ensuring their safety, performance, and results align with company goals. This is a unique multifaceted role that makes a tangible impact on the current processes and future operations of the Wilmington operation.

Reporting to the Plant Manager, the successful candidate will:

Projects/Working Capital

  • Ensure safe and successful execution of all capital projects onsite.
  • Manage all aspects of the working capital cycle, from scoping, prioritization, budgeting through to timely and safe execution.
  • Provide leadership and direction to Project Management and Engineering companies who will:
  • Supervise project teams, including providing appropriate staffing and resource allocation
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and on budget.
  • Monitor, report, and control all aspects of the projects to forecast costs and schedules and manage risks and opportunities.

Quality Lab

  • Maintain a safe working environment within the laboratory.
  • Oversee the laboratory supervisor and ensure effective quality control measures.
  • Review and update analysis procedures and ensure quality assurance standards are met.
  • Investigate customer complaints and work on developing resolutions.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and customer satisfaction surveys.
  • Ensure adherence to ISO 9001 standards and internal processes.

Shipping and Warehouse

  • Responsible for the scheduling and planning related to order fulfillment, including packaging, quality, and shipping of all products
  • Coordinate with Customer Service and Logistics teams to monitor on-time shipments, ensuring customer specifications are met.
  • Optimize warehouse space and resources to improve efficiency.
  • Collaborate with Marketing, Sales, and Distribution teams to compare global forecasts with production capacities and set goals accordingly.
  • Ensure accurate inventory management, monthly reconciliation, and billing for all products produced.

What you'll bring

  • A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team
  • Proven ability to partner with cross-functional teams and build trust with key stakeholders.
  • Knowledge and experience in controlling project scope, schedules, budgets, and resource planning.
  • The ability to make sound, pragmatic judgements and manage competing priorities.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and spoken, with core competencies in influencing and negotiation
  • Bachelor's or higher education in Engineering - Chemical, Mechanical, Process or Mining, and PMP certification
  • At least 7 years of Project and Engineering experience with demonstrated projects leadership roles
  • Experience in a similar role in processing or extraction industries, large-scale manufacturing, heavy industry, natural resources, or mining
