The Spectrum Reach Business Development Manager leads a team of Business Development Reps who sell geo-targeted video advertising and digital search campaigns to small-to-medium size businesses within a specified territory. Primary platforms utilized to deliver these campaigns include CTV, linear cable, Spectrum News, Kernel production services as well as a host of traditional digital marketing tools. This team drives high volume client contact including prospecting, presentation and close focused 100% on new client acquisition. The BDM then coordinates account transition to assigned Account Executive teams who maintain and continue the sales cycle towards renewal.


  • Actively and consistently support all efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience.
  • Consistently drive sales team to meet or exceed weekly and monthly activity goals including per day customer contact goals, per week customer in person presentations, and per month new business account closes.
  • Recruit, interview, hire, train, and coach BDR's to achieve sales goals.
  • Manage daily individual rep funnel activity, including contacts, presentations, and sales.
  • Maintain solid understanding of Spectrum Reach platforms, products and services and the value propositions they provide and be able to train/coach BDRs in same.
  • Coach sales team as they establish a high level of client satisfaction, professionalism, and courtesy to effectively maintain quality client relationships.
  • Steward newly developed client relationships with SOS team to position long-term client retention as accounts transition to Account Executives. Will include cross team coaching, effective communication, and proper client profile documentation.
  • Develop and maintain a team territory plan, including target list management, ensuring that each BDR is executing a living territory plan for the assigned area.
  • Support the sales team by spending 80% of the time in the field and 20% of the time completing office work.
  • Organize and facilitate meetings regularly to ensure the sales team is aware of any tools, processes, or product updates.
  • Maintains current, in-depth knowledge of the marketplace, including competition, and ensures positive and professional relationships with customers, business partners, and co-workers.
  • Handle employee relation issues, including performance appraisals, coaching, and ensure training compliance.
  • Attend and participate in meetings as established by management.
  • Perform other duties related to the position as assigned

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Ability to read, write, speak and understand English
  • Knowledge of direct sales and direct sales management.
  • Aptitude to learn Spectrum Reach product suite, company values, and approach to local market selling.
  • Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in business, sales, marketing or related field, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Required Related Work Experience and Number of Years

  • Business to Business sales management experience - 5 years

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience with Salesforce.
  • Knowledge of digital marketing tools and tactics, especially focused on streaming TV media.
  • Outside sales experience in a high transaction, short closing cycle model preferred.
  • Proven sales history of meeting or exceeding targets preferred
  • Ability to communicate orally and in writing in clear and straightforward manner
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Ability to prioritize and organize effectively
  • Ability to multitask within required deadlines efficiently and effectively.
  • A commanding desire to learn and succeed in motivation and accountability techniques.
  • Resilience, persistence, and ability to enthusiastically coach salespeople
  • Inspirational attitude combined with an entrepreneurial spirit.
