  • PURPOSE:

    Responsible for the designing, building, implementing, and maintaining the organizations IT infrastructure. This includes servers, storage systems, and security measures, ensuring smooth operation and optimal performance by monitoring system health, troubleshooting issues, and staying updated on emerging technologies to proactively address future needs. In addition, this role will be responsible for developing guidelines and optimizing all new and existing hardware and software for the infrastructure.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSBILITIES:



    • Administer, maintain, develop, and implement policies and procedures for ensuring the security and integrity of the company infrastructure, including servers, storage, virtualized environments (in-house and cloud). This will include an expertise in server operations systems (Windows, Linux).


    • Manage and maintain cloud infrastructure and services on Microsoft Azure, ensuring optimal performance, security, and scalability.


    • Strong understanding of networking protocols (TCP/IP, routing, and switching).


    • Design and implement short- and long-term strategic plans to ensure infrastructure capacity meets existing and future requirements.


    • Develop, implement, and maintain policies, procedures, and associated training plans for infrastructure resource administration and appropriate use.


    • Provide "ownership" of problems through final resolution.


    • Plan, acquire, and coordinate installation of in-house and remote hardware and software across the organization.


    • Conduct research and make recommendations on server equipment, services, protocols, and standards in support of procurement and development efforts.


    • Perform cost-benefit and return on investment analyses for proposed systems to aid management in making implementation decisions.


    • Negotiate with vendors, outsourcers, and contractors to secure infrastructure and services.


    • Assess, approve, and administer all equipment, hardware, and software upgrades.


    • Manage and ensure the effectiveness of servers, including print and backup servers, and their associated operating systems and software. Responsible for on-site and off-site data centers. There will also be a necessity to manage Windows Updates in Azure Arc.


    • Manage and ensure the effectiveness of security solutions, anti-virus solutions, and intrusion detection systems.


    • Test server performance and provide network performance statistics and reports; develop strategies for maintaining server infrastructure.


    • Oversee the administration of user accounts, permissions, Group Polices and access rights in Active Directory (AD). This will include the administration of Certification Services for secure communications and authentication.


    • Provide guidance to junior members of the team.


    • Be aware of how desktops, laptops, and mobile devices work and integrate within the infrastructure.


    ADDITIONAL DUTIES:



    • May provide technical guidance and leadership to more junior network personnel.
    • May be called upon to provide support for service issues or failures at any time.


    • Perform other duties as assigned.


    • Occasional travel is required



    PREFERRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES:



    • Experience with Microsoft licensing and O365.


    • Experience with SAN/NAS/Pure storage.


    • Experience with Hyper V and VMWare.


    • Basic Cyber Security principles and knowledge.


    • Experience with Rubrik or Commvault is a plus.


    • A bachelor's degree in computer science and three to five years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, is required.
    • Microsoft certification is desirable.


    • Proven ability to work cooperatively in a team.


    • Demonstrated ability to make informed decisions.
    • May travel approximately 20% of the time.


    • Ability to work in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment and the ability to multi-task on a regular basis.



STARTNG PAY:

$87,433 - $109,292
