Summary

The Textile Coordinator oversees all facets of the COM and GPM processes at Global Industries. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask effectively. The coordinator must demonstrate problem-solving abilities and contribute to enhancing Customer Care and Sales programs that align with Global, Alliance Partners, and COM textile initiatives.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

The Textile Coordinator position will have 3 primary areas of concentration that will assist in the end-to-end Customer Satisfaction deliverable.

  1. Process Coordination & Maintenance
  • Oversee and manage the COM (Customers Own Material) process from start to finish within all brand and product categories
  • Maintain COM data base with key information within all brand and product categories
  • Work with our Production Team to maintain Textile Availability data base by seating series (and other brand/product categories) with Alliance Partner's materials
  • Maintain the Alliance Partner Graded-In listings in print and on the website ensuring the materials are available, new fabrics are posted timely, and the grading is always current/accurate
  • Work with textile mills to confirm yardage availability for larger projects, reserving material as necessary.
  1. Internal/External Knowledge Resource
  • Maintain internal textile library of Alliance Partners carded and graded-in materials; Develop a working knowledge of the strengths of each Alliance Partner
  • Maintain a working knowledge of all potential COM suppliers
  • Develop an understanding and knowledge of textile and product flammability requirements within our industry. Maintain knowledge of all the textiles that do not comply with current chemical restrictions.
  • Develop a knowledge of all the treated materials/finish options for performance applications
  • Develop a working knowledge of textile technical measurements (i.e.: light fastness, crocking, pilling, seam slippage, abrasion, etc.)
  • Learn the various types of materials used for textiles and the pluses and minus' of each as it relates to Global products
  • Provide necessary DC/Customer Care training as necessary
  • Provide sales recommendations of textiles for specific applications
  • Provide field sales training for Territory Managers as needed
  • Work with factory purchasing and scheduling departments on customer lead-time issues or special upholstery requirements
  1. Textile Vendor Relations
  • Develop relationships with (Alliance Partners and COM suppliers)
  • Maintain relationships with all Alliance Partner corporate contacts

Education and/or Experience

Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience or military equivalent.
