What part will you play? The Senior Design Engineer - Broadcast & Media (SDE) will design customized broadcast systems while acting as an extension of the Diversified consulting team, embedded with our client at their Denver, Colorado location. This role requires excellent communication, technical expertise, and a passion for innovation in broadcast technology. NOTE - this position is 100% onsite in Denver CO What will you be doing?
- Lead complex engagements design and develop broadcast systems: including studios, control rooms, and transmission facilities.
- Design and architect cloud-based solutions for live broadcast production workflows, channel playout, and content delivery
- Integrate new designs with the client's existing system.
- Research, identify, and recommend technology options for clients and projects.
- Conceptualize system designs and determine system requirements.
- Ensure solutions are scalable, reliable, and in compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Develop comprehensive technical documentation and CAD diagrams for system architecture based on engineering best practices.
- Oversee and create the Bill of Materials (BOM) and supporting documentation.
- Assist the sales team in preparing technical proposals, including system architecture and cost estimates for internal client and Diversified.
- Stay up- to-date with the latest advancements in broadcast technology through ongoing review of trade publications, participation in industry trade shows, seminars, internal Diversified training, and educational forums.
Potential future state of position:
- Provide technical expertise and coordination information to support the base building tasks performed by others, and planning of audio, video, and control solutions.
- Generate functional technical/system descriptions/ documentation: complete block wiring diagrams, rack elevations, custom plates, or cabling assemblies, etc.

- Provide technical expertise and oversee the creation of and later reconciliation of the complete construction drawing package, support documentation for installation and coordination with architect and other trades.
- Support projects and teams in build phase. Complete the as-built drawings for service hand-over.
- Provide regular project engineering milestone status updates to Technical Operations resource planning.
- May be required to regularly lead teams on large projects.
What do we require from you? Education/Certifications:
- High school diploma or GED required
- Bachelor's degree (Optional) in Broadcast Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, Computer Science or related field
- Advanced Degree (Optional): A Master's in Broadcast Engineering, Systems Engineering, or similar can be beneficial.
- Proficient in AutoCAD and MS Office 365
- SBE Certified Broadcast Engineer (CBE), SBE Certified Broadcast Engineer (CBE), Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) for networking expertise is a plus
- Cloud Certification (AWS, Azure, GCP, etc) is a plus
Required/Desired Knowledge, Experience and Skills:
- 10+ years' experience in Media and Entertainment technical systems designing.
- A clear understanding of construction project phases Program, Conceptualization, Schematic Design, Design Development, Construction Documentation, Construction and Commissioning.
- Experience leading large-scale projects, including system upgrades and new installations, and building complex networking infrastructure on premises.
- Experience working with manufacturers and integrators to implement broadcast solutions.
- Demonstrated knowledge of broadcast technology, equipment, facilities, and production systems used in the Media and Entertainment / Broadcast industry. Formats include high-definition, UHD and HDR video systems deployed using analog, SDI and SMPTE 2110 IP transport protocols.
- Familiarity with networked audio systems and transport protocols including 2110-30, AES-67, Ravenna and Dante
- Understanding of TCP/IP, ACL's, QoS, VLAN's and Wireless Access Points.
- Knowledge of IP video, streaming/ networking protocols, and IT infrastructure.
- Understanding of cloud-based video production workflow
- Knowledge of encoding, signal flow, Ip transmissions, audio/video formats and decoding technology
- Experience in troubleshooting and resolution of broadcast equipment issues to maintain seamless transmission.
