Traditional schedule will be Monday - Friday, 9:00am - 5:30pm with the exception of some evenings and weekends required for events. PURPOSE: Mall of America is looking for a motivated and creative Public Relations + Social Media Intern to join our team. This internship provides valuable, hands-on experience in promoting Mall of America through storytelling, content creation, and public relations efforts. The intern will support the team by drafting media materials, producing photo and video content, monitoring social media platforms, and engaging with Mall guests to address inquiries. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, a passion for social media, and a desire to uphold Mall of America's reputation as the premier retail and entertainment destination. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:
- Assist with content creation for Mall of America, Nickelodeon Universe, and Crayola Experience social media channels.
- Monitor and engage with content across social media channels.
- Contribute to writing media advisories and press releases that highlight the latest happenings and exciting events at Mall of America.
- Assist with guest engagement via social media by responding to inquiries, addressing concerns, and responding in a timely manner.
- Work alongside the PR team to track media coverage, respond to inquiries, assist media crews onsite, and help coordinate in-studio segments.
- Help secure media coverage for events, stores, attractions, restaurants, and seasonal campaigns.
- Support MOA influencer program by identifying potential creators, curating influencer packages, and assist with campaign communications.
- Generate creative ideas for social media content, PR strategies, influencer campaigns, media stories, and episodes for Mall of America's podcast, So Much More.
- Maintain an understanding of online trends, including pop culture, influencers, industry developments, and media coverage, to identify opportunities and insights that impact Mall of America.
- Reflect MOA voice and tone in all communications.
- Additional duties as assigned.
PREFERRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:
- Must be at least 18 years of age with high school diploma or equivalent.
- Degree in or pursuing a degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or Liberal Arts.
- Highly organized and detail oriented with a strong ability to support multiple projects simultaneously while working in a fast-paced environment.
- Well-versed in the digital landscape with an understanding of social media platforms including, but not limited to Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, X, and YouTube.
- Passionate about delivering exceptional guest experiences with a customer-focused mindset.
- Creative and independent thinker, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
- Familiarity with social media monitoring and editing tools.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Flexibility to work varied schedules including weekends and evenings.

STARTING PAY: $16
