Be a part of the Saint Therese - IHM Senior Living Community! We are looking for a Full-Time Maintenance Technician to work in our 5-star healthcare facility in Monroe. The Maintenance Technician is responsible to perform a variety of maintenance and repair functions throughout the Monroe Campus as well as the SSIHM owned off site properties. This position will be scheduled Tuesday - Saturday from 7:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. (training for the first few weeks will be on Monday - Friday).

Job Duties include:

1. Perform routine maintenance and repair as directed on defined equipment to include, but not limited to:
* Minor repairs to plastering, painting, carpentry, mechanical equipment etc.
* Clean and repair all windows and screens
* Replace all filters and belts
* Routine maintenance on grounds, parking areas, driveways, aggregate walkway, etc. on all SSIHM properties
* Fuel and clean fleet cars
* Change oil and perform preventative maintenance on fleet cars
2. Maintain all yards, walkways and parking areas as directed to include, but not limited to:
* Grass cutting
* Snow removal
* Light pole bulb replacement
3.Keep all electrical, mechanical, janitorial and storage spaces clean and neat.
4. Report safety hazards and repair needs to the Supervisor.
5. Report all incidents/accidents, no matter how minor, to the Facilities Supervisor immediately.
6. Ensure that all chemicals are clearly marked and appropriate safety data sheets are maintained according to OSHA/MIOSHA guidelines.
7. Serve as a back up for all functions relating to Security, and Receiving.
8. Assist others, as directed or requested, with room set up for events, in lifting equipment, supplies etc, deliveries of goods to departments and residents, and moving residents, office, etc.
9. Provide technical assistance to groups using AV materials and use of auditorium to include sound and lighting needs.

Qualifications:



  • High School degree or GED equivalent required and experience in the area of maintenance/repair
    work.
  • Previous Maintenance experience working in a facility setting is required.


Special Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:



  • Ability to follow instructions, make independent decisions when necessary, and accept constructive feedback.
  • Ability to work as a team member.
  • Ability to operate a variety of power equipment and hand tools related to the building trades and housekeeping.
  • Ability to be trained and certified to operate forklift truck. Certification preferred.
  • Ability to see what needs to be done, to take action without being told and reporting activity to Supervisor as appropriate.
  • Ability to estimate time and materials needed to accomplish any given maintenance task.
  • Ability to learn, understand and support the Saint Therese Mission and Values.
  • Ability to follow OSHA/MIOSHA requirements.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and harmoniously with a variety of people, as needed.
  • Good public relations and customer service skills. Ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, guests, visitors, general public, etc.
  • Ability to work in a variety of areas, have flexibility, personal integrity, and keep supervisor informed appropriately.
  • Maintain a high level of confidentiality.
  • Willingness and ability to learn new skills.
  • Ability to work evening and/or weekend hours, as needed.
  • Concern for the welfare of older adults.
  • Computer skills desirable.
  • Valid driver license and good driving record.
  • Ability to lift, push, pull, bend, stoop and move equipment, supplies, etc. throughout the day as necessary.
