Summary
Responsible for performing vascular ultrasound procedures to assess blood flow, detect vascular abnormalities, and assist in the diagnosis and treatment of vascular conditions.
Essential FunctionsPerform a wide range of vascular ultrasound examinations, including carotid, arterial, venous, and peripheral vascular studies.
-Use Doppler and color-flow imaging to assess blood flow and detect abnormalities.
-Oversee the maintenance and calibration of vascular ultrasound equipment to ensure accurate and reliable results.
-Prepare and position patients for vascular ultrasound examinations.
-Provide guidance to other vascular ultrasound technologists in the department and provide expertise in the field.
-Collaborate with physicians, radiologists, and other healthcare professionals to determine the appropriate ultrasound protocols for each patient.
-Contribute to research projects or quality improvement initiatives within the department.

Education
Associate's Degree Related Field of Study required or Bachelor's Degree Related Field of Study preferred

Licenses and Credentials
Basic Life Support [BLS Certification] - Data Conversion - Various Issuers preferred Registered Vascular Technologist [RVT] - American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) preferred Certified Sonographer - American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) preferred

Experience
Vascular Sonography Experience 2-3 years required

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Strong knowledge of vascular anatomy, physiology, and pathologies.
- Proficiency in using vascular ultrasound equipment and associated software.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with patients, colleagues, and healthcare providers.
- Leadership abilities and the ability to mentor and guide junior technologists.
