Overview:
Provides support for network and server infrastructure within the HKS environment and produces & maintains technical documentation of the overall infrastructure ecosystem. Possesses and applies a broad knowledge of advanced networking and server maintenance and hygiene activities to complete assignments with integrity, creativity and strong analytical skills in collaboration with team. Collaborates in producing & maintaining technical documentation of the overall infrastructure ecosystem with strong analytical skills. Anticipates job expectations while performing design and technical tasks requiring application of standard techniques and knowledge.
Responsibilities:
- Engineers, implements and provides support for advanced network configurations and server deployments, including hosting infrastructure
- Proposes, designs, and deploys on-premises and cloud solutions based on business requirements
- Develops and implements comprehensive monitoring solutions, and proactively identifies and remediates found issues
- Performs root cause analysis investigations, and develops comprehensive RCA reports
- Leads the creation of executive-level infrastructure reports, providing strategic insights and recommendations to senior management
- Recommends and implements improvements to RCA processes and procedures while mentoring junior team members in incident handling techniques
- Assists with the development, implementation, and maintenance of infrastructure documentation, including policies, standards, procedures, and guidelines
- Ensures documentation is aligned with industry best practices, organizational needs, and provides guidance and training to other team members on infrastructure documentation standards
- Develops and maintains infrastructure dashboards and metrics to track key performance indicators (KPIs) and ensures that infrastructure reporting is accurate, timely, and relevant to the needs of the audience
- Provides expert guidance and advice to other IT teams on infrastructure architecture, design, and implementation
- Participates in the design and execution of disaster recovery plan and testing
- Administers and supports Active Directory
- Applies firmware and software patches to hardware as needed
- Provides support for Office 365
- Provides Tier 3 support for desktop, server and network access issues
- Ensures reliable backup and recovery form circuit and hardware failures
- Performs basic Azure administration duties
- Continuously learn and develop skills and knowledge and embraces a culture of continuous service improvement and service excellence
- Stays current on industry trends
- Provides afterhours support as needed for high severity situations
- Performs other duties assigned by leadership
Qualifications:
- B.A./B.S. degree in Computer Science or related field or a combination of education and experience
- Typically with 3+ years of experience supporting enterprise hosting solutions with a mixture of on-premise and cloud
- Typically 2+ years of experience supporting networks LAN and WAN architecture and 2+ years of experience supporting backup and recovery solutions
- Experience in VMware, Cisco UCS, Citrix Daas, Cisco networking, Silverpeak, Palo Alto and Cohesity
- Experience in MS Office Suite, including Excel, Outlook and Word
- Experience in network routing and switching
- Advanced competency with cloud native services, Azure cloud services preferred
- Advanced competency in Microsoft Server, Office 365 administration
- Advanced competency with inter-office networking and SD-WAN
- Strong technical project leadership skills
- Strong analytical skills
