Job Title: Network Engineer

Location(s): Branchburg, NJ

Targeted Years of Experience: 5-7 years

Responsibilities:

Configure and Administer Firewalls and Security related platforms destined for Production. Ensure those platforms integrate seamlessly with our Management and Monitoring systems. Manage the various Power, Space, and Network Address allocation and request tools to accurately and effectively create and manage work orders for the physical rack and stack of physical equipment, as well as Layer1 cabling. Ensure performance metrics are reviewed to maintain expected service levels. Ensure configuration audit & remediation activities are acted upon to keep configuration deltas minimized, and potential resulting disruptions to zero. Develop and manage Methods of Procedures for Implementation. Provide high tier technical support to Operations and Engineering teams on all security and application related networking issues on or around our owned environment. Interface with Vendors where appropriate to confirm developed procedures, or to troubleshoot impact events. Work on several, critical, high-visibility projects simultaneously and independently, to deliver solutions for our team and our Business quickly and effectively. Lead technical discussions and track progress / responsibility on projects on the above work, while managing both in-team and cross functional milestones within Engineering and Application teams, to ensure successful and appropriate implementation.

MUST HAVE SKILLS (Most Important):

Advanced knowledge and configuration experience with Routers & Switches.

Knowledge and configuration experience with Firewalls, Load Balancers, and other related Enterprise & Carrier Class Network Devices. Knowledge and configuration experience with

nix, perl, java, python or related scripting languages. Knowledge of virtualization and automation technologies.

Advanced technical writing, documentation, and configuration procedure authoring experience, examples will be requested to be demonstrated during the interview. Visio interpretation, creation and Maintenance.

Advanced troubleshooting experience in various Networking devices. Use of troubleshooting tools such as session traces and packet captures to assist in root cause.

Strong project management & organizational skills, strong interpersonal and communications skills (written and oral), and the ability to multitask.

  • Juniper ScreenOS


EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS:


  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical or Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Information Technology.
