Who You Are: Versar Global Solutions is seeking a full-time Quality and Permitting Coordinator / Roadway Permit Inspector to join our team in Ocoee, FL. This position will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy of quality assurance processes, overseeing permitting coordination, and performing inspections related to the highway maintenance project under the Asset Maintenance contracts. The ideal candidate will have experience in roadway or construction maintenance and permitting processes, ensuring all work complies with regulatory requirements, quality standards, and project specifications. What You'll Do: Quality Assurance and Inspection:
- Perform routine inspections on an assigned percentage of completed work orders to ensure compliance with the Asset Maintenance (AM) contract quality standards.
- Maintain accurate records to comply with Quality Assurance Review stipulations and assist the Project Manager with documentation and reporting requirements.
- Prepare reports and updates for Project Manager review, ensuring the project database is current and generates accurate client reports.
- Track work order status and timesheets for quality control (QC) and monitor contractor performance.
- Advise the Project Manager of any changes in policies or conflicts with current standards.
- Inspect in-house and subcontractor work to ensure it meets required quality standards.
- Participate in client meetings and inspections, including specific asset inspections like reflectivity and lighting at night when needed.
- Review and manage structure work orders (bridges and signs) and participate in Feasible Action Review Committee (FARC) meetings.
Permitting Coordination:
- Coordinate, process, administer, and inspect permits for roadways under Asset Maintenance within FDOT District 5.
- Enter all permit-related data into the Department's permits tracking system (One Stop Permitting / OSP), ensuring accuracy.
- Process utility, driveway, special use, drainage, house moving, road closure, and landscaping permits, ensuring compliance with Florida Statutes and F.A.C.
- Track permit status, provide regular updates to the Project Manager, and interact with permitted parties and clients in office and field settings.
- Field inspects construction activities resulting from approved permits to ensure conformance with regulations and specifications.
- Verify the acceptability of contractor work methods and product during field inspections.
- Document all field inspections and ensure adherence to approved permit requirements, department regulations, and standards.
- Coordinate and attend post-approval meetings and inspections, obtaining project certifications and final (as-built) plans in accordance with department procedures.
- Interact with permittees in office and field environments.
- Interact with the general public, subcontractors, and property owners
Safety and Compliance:
- Ensure all inspections and work activities comply with safety regulations and establish work areas in accordance with OSHA standards.
- Read and interpret plans, specifications, design standards, and manuals to ensure compliance.
- Analyze, interpret, and plot survey data when necessary.
- Communicate technical information effectively, both verbally and in writing, to project teams and clients.
General Responsibilities:
- With the use of a take-home company vehicle, travel throughout the project area to perform physical field inspections and duties related to data quality assurance and permitting.
- With the use of a company laptop, laptop stand, and cell phone, perform work from vehicle "mobile office" when stopped in a secure and authorized location as needed.
- Demonstrate good safety practices and environmental awareness, working in various weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, etc.).
- Perform other duties as assigned by management to support project goals and ensure compliance with contract stipulations.
What You'll Bring: Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Proficiency in performing mathematical calculations and inspecting maintenance contract projects.
- Must be proficient in English, both written and verbal, to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
- Must possess and maintain an active and valid Florida driver's license without restrictions.
- Successful results of preemployment screenings, including federal background check, MVR, and drug screen.
- Comply with company drug and alcohol policy.
- Be authorized to work in the US or will be authorized by the successful candidate's start date.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., regularly
- Ability to walk or sit for extended periods, as well as climb, kneel, crouch, or reach
- Ability to work outdoors in a variety of weather elements with commuter traffic passing by at high rates of speed.
- Within 60 days of project start, obtain and maintain an Advanced Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) Certification (provided by the Company).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with local, state, and federal permitting processes.
- Experience in roadway maintenance, data quality assurance, or construction, facilities, utilities, or building inspection.
- Experience with reading blueprints or plans.
- GIS experience.
Compensation Expected Salary: 21.00 - $23.00 per hour, depending on qualifications and experience.
