Responsibilities
Modern Technology Solutions Inc. (MTSI) is seeking an industrial and physical Security Specialist Subject Matter Expert (SME) responsible for providing services comprising adherence to security policies including for Special Access Program (SAP) and Sensitive Compartmentalized Information (SCI) operations, activities, and advisory assistance to enable the protection of sensitive technologies. The SME will work with HQ MTSI and multiple DoD organizations and their security offices to include the Space Rapid Capabilities Office, Space System Command, as well as the Air Force Office of Special Investigations. The SME will work in multi-level classified environments to include SAP and SCI. A successful candidate should be a self-starter who possesses initiative, excellent communication skills, the ability to lead diverse teams, to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and a proven problem solver. Your essential job functions will include but may not be limited to:
- Interpreting and implementing DoD, National Agency, and AF policies and doctrine to ensure proper compliance
- Working with accreditation and enforcement agencies to ensure MTSI and customer's adherence to security policies and guidance for protecting sensitive technologies and classified information related to critical national security projects
- Advising MTSI and customer leadership on current security policies and procedures, and resourcing required to obtain and maintain SAP and SCI accreditation
* Providing expertise on current policies and procedures for obtaining and maintaining access to SAP and SCI programs * Liaising with other security offices, company and government leadership, and representatives from other organizations to properly implement policies, processes, countermeasures, and enhanced security protocols to reduce or mitigate vulnerabilities to sensitive technologies - Overseeing the Assessment and Authorization of Information Technology systems
- Providing expertise in the authoring and all aspects of physical security process and Standard Operating Procedures for classified facilities
* Identifying and reporting deficiencies to support regulatory compliance - Assisting in identifying Operations Security (OPSEC) indicators and helping to implement OPSEC measures to protect program activities
- Providing assistance and expertise in the development and implementation of SAP and SCI security education and training program designed and tailored to meet specific requirements
Qualifications
Required Experience:
- 15 or more years of experience working on a balanced combination of industrial, personnel, physical, and cyber security programs
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in SAP or SCI environment, one (1) year within the last five (5) years
- Deep understanding of ICS 705 requirements and technology required to meet those standards
- Experience with assessing and accrediting facilities for SAP
- Demonstrated experience assessing and mitigating risk through the identification of threats and vulnerabilities and the effectiveness of countermeasures
Desired Experience:
- Demonstrated understanding of cybersecurity needs of systems at varied stages of the systems life development cycle.
- Demonstrated ability to work well independently
- Demonstrated ability to drive projects to closure, and to assimilate and correlate project information in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
Education /Certification Requirements:
- Master's degree in information technology or related technical field
- Years of relevant security experience and other certifications may be substituted for this requirement
- Security Fundamentals Professional Certification (SFPC)
Security Clearance Level Required:
- Top Secret, SCI eligible (Must be a U.S. Citizen).
- SAP eligible and willingness to submit to a Counter-Intelligence polygraph
Location/Travel Requirements:
- Place of work is Colorado Springs, CO area, remote work opportunity is limited.
- May require travel up to 20% of time within the continental United States.
Compensation The pay range for this position in Colorado is $130,000/year to $165,000/year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on established government contract rates, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, and other factors. MTSI also offers a full range of medical, financial, and other benefits, dependent on the position offered. This information is provided per the Colorado Equal Pay Act.
