ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Includes the following (other duties may be documented and assigned by local management and some duties may not apply depending upon the requirements of the position at each specific Astemo site and/or the strengths of the employee and the needs of the company

1. Responsible for materials management function relating to the planning, storage, control, and distribution of materials and products to meet company objectives and customer requirements.

2. Maintains optimum inventory levels to ensure on-time deliveries, meeting customer requirements while minimizing carry costs, obsolescence, and premium transportation charges.

3. Establishes procedures and supervises the annual physical inventory, including taking and valuing the year-end physical inventory and reducing quarterly inventories through robust cycle-counting procedures.

4. Responsible for proper model year phase-out programs and initiating and processing the resulting obsolescence and termination claims.

5. Oversees and ensures proper production control planning and scheduling programs to meet sales forecasts and balance the level of manpower, manhours, and machine requirements. Investigate and follow up on deviations from the production schedule.

6. Ensure proper contact with customers relating to releases and deliveries.

7. Investigates and solves problems resulting from material shortages, however caused.

8. Develops, establishes, and provides for the maintenance of reporting systems related to the materials function.

9. Manages the company's shipping and receiving functions and oversees the storage of purchased parts and finished goods.

10. Ensures that the company's standard practices and procedures are followed in connection with all production control department functions.

11. Responsible for the motivation and development of subordinates to optimize their performance and personal and professional growth.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Knowledge, skills & abilities: Must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Possess ability to perform duties utilizing current company software applications. Excellent interpersonal, organizational, verbal, and written communication skills required. This position performs job duties ethically and professionally. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Supervises the Production Control Management Team

Education: Bachelor's degree required.

Experience: Minimum 5 years of related prior experience preferred.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Light to moderate physical effort required. Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds. Regularly required to sit, stand, reach and move about the plant.

Working Conditions:

Physical Demands: Required to sit or stand for long periods of time. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. Ability to work 40 - 60 hours per week.

Travel: Up to 20% domestic and international may be required.

Work Environment: Working in an office environment with exposure to manufacturing areas.
