We are recruiting on behalf of afast-growing, PE-backed healthcare services company headquartered in Atlanta, GA. In acquisition mode, this dynamic organization offers a unique opportunity to make a significant impact by building and shaping its internal accounting function, hiring a team, and implementing scalable processes for future growth. About the Role: The Controller will work closely with the CFO to transform the accounting function from outsourced to in-house, creating and leading a high-performing team. This pivotal role will be responsible for:
  • Financial reporting
  • Accounts payable (A/P)
  • Revenue accounting and physician compensation calculations
  • Month-end close processes
  • General ledger (GL) accounting
  • Ensuring GAAP compliance
  • Providing audit support
  • Driving best practices across the accounting function

Given the company's acquisitive nature, the Controller will also manage acquisition integration accounting, including transitioning newly acquired practices from cash to accrual-based accounting.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and mentor the accounting team, fostering a culture of excellence and collaboration.
  • Develop and implement processes and systems to support the company's rapid growth.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure financial accuracy and compliance.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting (Master's preferred).
  • CPA designation required.
  • 9-11+ years of relevant and progressive experience.
  • Prior experience as a Controller
  • Experience working within a multi-site healthcare services company (required)
  • Strong leadership and mentoring skills.
  • Expertise in acquisition integration accounting and physician compensation accounting.
  • Experience utilizing mid-sized systems like Sage Intacct or Netsuite.
  • Background in high-growth, private equity-backed environments.
