Overview

Shure is seeking Android embedded platform software development engineers.

As an Embedded Engineer, you will work in our product teams developing cutting edge audio systems with a specific focus on Android platforms. These positions will work on architecture and design work of the overall products with other engineering disciplines within Shure.

This role will be hybrid based out of our Niles, IL office.



Responsibilities

    Android software system architecture, design, implementation and testing for embedded Android systems
  • Work as part of a cross-functional development team on product architecture as well as the software design implementation cutting edge audio products and technologies
  • Practice established software development methodologies and principles focusing on software architecture and design.
  • Review the design and code developed by peer engineers. Engage in unit, integration and testing of software components and systems.
  • Investigate and integrate new hardware and Android software systems in Shure products.


Qualifications

  • BS degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or Computer Electrical Engineering; MS a plus
  • 5 or more years of requisite experience
  • Demonstrated expertise in developing hardware/software products running Android
  • Experience with C++ and Kotlin on Android as well as knowledge of the Android BSP and bringup, Android system services and the overall AOSP system software
  • Object oriented design and programming skills
  • Experience with audio and/or video protocols or media-specific technologies a plus
  • Ability to work effectively within a diverse environment of people developing world class products in a collaborative fashion
  • Quality and continuous improvement minded

PAY TRANSPARENCY
Shure offers a competitive compensation structure that is reviewed annually to attract, hire, and retain the industry's top talent. Base salaries vary based on qualifications, geography, experience, and expertise in each respective discipline. The base salary range for this position is between $88,400 - $177,600. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target base salary for this opportunity. If your salary expectations do not align, still apply as we are often flexible on the seniority of posted positions. All positions also include an award-winning benefits package.
