Principal Associate, Credit Review Operations

The Credit Review organization at Capital One monitors credit quality and assures credit business practices adhere to Credit Policy, Standards and Procedures for internal and external stakeholders. The Credit Review Operations team is currently hiring a Principal Associate who will be supporting high priority horizontal initiatives while providing ongoing organizational support to drive team objectives. In addition, the role will be responsible for providing support and oversight of certain Credit Review Operations processes, such as SOX internal controls testing, MRA tracking and reporting, business continuity plans, internal team and management reporting, providing workflow and reporting process enhancements, and ad-hoc project assistance as needed.

The Principal Associate is expected to maintain high professional ethical standards, and work independently in a collaborative environment. This will be a critical role where strategic thinking, attention to detail, creativity, influencing skills and execution of project management will be rewarded.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Directly supporting the Operations team with horizontal organizational needs and related activities, with a particular focus on leadership support, operating routines, reporting needs, and project execution

  • Managing internal business continuity plans, internal controls testing, MRA tracking and reporting

  • Managing Corporate Policy changes and manage Credit Review Policy updates

  • Supporting Audit and Examination processes and routines

  • Serve as a liaison, representing Credit Review to both internal and external stakeholders and partners

  • Drive and support implementation and adoption of the Technology tools and platforms (including G-Suite) across the Credit Review organization

  • Have a lead role in organizing team activities and associate engagement activities, including Town Halls, Lunch and Learns, and other departmental activities

  • Lead and/or support special projects as they arise, based on business needs

  • Developing relationships with key stakeholders including Senior Leaders, associates, and key internal partners

The ideal candidate should possess/be:

  • Able to dive deep and demonstrate excellent attention to details

  • Action oriented, always leaning in and moving with a sense of urgency. Results-oriented and able to get things done

  • Highly collaborative orientation and be strong team player who places the best interests of the organization above personal objectives

  • Strong verbal and written communication/presentation skills, coupled with strategic influencing skills and the ability to drive agreement through intellect, and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to analyze and solve problems independently in an ever-changing environment, and can navigate the organization

  • Strong level of proficiency with the Google Workplace applications: Docs / Sheets / Slides or similar Microsoft products, and working experience with Tableau

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or Military Experience

  • At least 2 years of project or process management experience

  • At least 2 years of experience working with internal business clients

  • At least 2 years financial services experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • At least 3 years of experience in operational, or PMO environments

  • At least 3 years of experience in project management and data analysis

  • At least 3 years in a Consultancy or a process improvement role

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.

Chicago, IL: $84,400 - $96,300 for Credit Review Analyst McLean, VA: $92,800 - $105,900 for Credit Review Analyst Plano, TX: $84,400 - $96,300 for Credit Review Analyst Richmond, VA: $84,400 - $96,300 for Credit Review Analyst

Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate's offer letter.

This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
