PURPOSE

The Internal Communications Specialist plays a key role in shaping and delivering clear, engaging, and effective communications across the company. This role ensures that employees receive timely, relevant, and well-crafted messages that reinforce company culture, align with business priorities, and enhance engagement. Through management of internal communication channels, support for key company initiatives, and creation and distribution of impactful messaging, the Internal Communications Specialist helps create a connected and informed workforce.
The Internal Communications Specialist must be able to craft messages and strategies that resonate at all levels and with employees globally. You both represent the employee voice and ensure employees have a voice by ensuring employees are informed, feel included, and understand company strategies and objectives.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

This role is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and is passionate about building strong internal communication that drives engagement and connection across the company.

Communication Strategy & Execution


  • Develop, manage, and enforce internal communication guidelines and standards to ensure consistency and effectiveness.
  • Review communication requests to ensure clarity, alignment with company messaging, and adherence to standards. Manage scheduling of messages and communications, balancing timeliness and scale.
  • Create and optimize communication strategies, channels, and schedules to deliver the right messages to the right audiences at the right time, both internally and externally.


Content Creation & Management


  • Develop internal communication materials for People Team initiatives, including Benefits Open Enrollment, Performance Management, and other company programs.
  • Act as a key partner for executive leadership team, including drafting talking points, creating/editing slides and ensuring consistency in company messages.
  • Support company meetings and events with materials such as posters, TV slides, intranet posts, and emails to enhance clarity and engagement.
  • Maintain and regularly update FormFactor's intranet, ensuring resources remain relevant, accurate, and timely, particularly for People Team, Managers, and Leaders.
  • Showcase employee achievements and reinforce company values through initiatives like Value of the Month Spotlights and All-Hands Meeting stories.


Event Support & Employee Engagement


  • Organize and facilitate behind-the-scenes company-wide meetings, including Fireside Chats, All-Hands Meetings, and Quarterly Senior Leader Meetings.
  • Lead the planning and execution of global employee events, including summer and holiday celebrations, recognition days, and appreciation events. Collaborate with employees worldwide to ensure successful execution.
  • Support Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) by assisting with event planning, communication, and engagement efforts.
  • Plan and execute internal cultural and recognition events such as International Women's Day, World Mental Health Day, Movember, and Ice Cream Day.


Internal Communication Channels & Tools


  • Manage and update internal communication postings, including posters and TV monitor slides across company sites.
  • Maintain accurate and relevant internal distribution lists.
  • Monitor communication effectiveness and recommend improvements based on feedback and engagement metrics.


EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS REQUIRED

Education & Experience


  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or a related field preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience in internal communications, employee engagement, or a related role.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams and leadership to craft and execute communication strategies.


Skills & Competencies


  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to convey messages clearly and concisely.
  • Excellent attention to detail, organization, and time management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Strong collaboration skills and ability to work with leaders, executives, and employees across different levels and functions.
  • Proactive, adaptable, and resourceful, with a problem-solving mindset.
  • Creativity and a passion for crafting engaging communications.
  • Strong follow-through and commitment to delivering high-quality work.


Technical Proficiency


  • Microsoft Suite: SharePoint (advanced), Teams (Townhall Meetings), PowerPoint, Word, Excel (VLOOKUP), Lists, Forms, Copilot.
  • Adobe Illustrator: Creating and customizing banners and logos.


The pay range for this role in Livermore, CA is between $71,400.00 and $93,660.00. The pay range may differ in other locations. FormFactor maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in education, training, skills, relevant work experience, business needs and market demands. Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity. Benefits offered for this role include medical, dental, vision, EAP, short-term and long-term disability, life insurance, flexible spending and savings accounts, 401(k), ESPP and paid time off.
