Job Summary

The Formulations Development Laboratory Support Technician is an effective member of the Formulations Development team. The ideal candidate should be detailed-oriented, self-motivated, possess good time management and critical thinking skills to drive results in a fast-paced environment by effectively performing various activities at ranges of complexity to ensure that the cleanliness of the laboratory is maintained to a high standard. This position will be responsible for providing support to the formulations development department and ensuring that all tasks are completed on time following Good Laboratory Practices. Business needs and deadlines will require employee to perform work duties outside of standard work hours on occasion. This position is challenged with a daily routine that changes based on customer demand and generally takes place in a fast-paced work environment. The technician will assist with a wide range of tasks including but not limited to support of materials sampling, assisting with external deliveries and orders, identification of material receipts in a computer software system, restocking supplies, processing glassware, etc.



On-Site Expectations

    100% on-site position.
  • 1st Shift: Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm.


Responsibilities

  • Handle products appropriately and enter information electronically into applicable systems as required.
  • Follow Good Documentation Practices (GDPs) to complete documentation.
  • Assist with maintaining laboratory and equipment cleanliness to promote safety.
  • Support process development and prototype manufacturing.
  • Monitor stock levels of laboratory consumables and re-order appropriate quantities as required to ensure continued readiness of the testing team.
  • Perform autoclaving operations, mobile phase preparation, vial filling and labeling.
  • Coordinates transfer of materials between various groups, internal and external laboratories.
  • Comply with company polices and SOPs.
  • Ensure timely completion and compliance with cGMP and all other relevant company training requirements.
  • Support sampling of packing materials, raw materials and manufactured products.
  • Support ongoing process development, prototype manufacturing and mechanical testing to support product development.
  • Document experiments and results in Laboratory notebooks with full traceability.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Qualifications

  • HS diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Degree in science or related field desired but not required.
  • GLP experience is a plus
  • GMP experience preferred.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Positive attitude.
  • Good Written and Verbal Communication Skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) required.
  • Basic knowledge of GMPs or GLPs is preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of a laboratory environment is desired.
  • Ability to coordinate multiple tasks and interact with laboratory staff.
  • Good organizational and time management skills.
  • Works well in a team setting.
  • Ability to interact well with all employees.
  • Ability to act independently.


Travel Expectations

  • Up to 5% travel required.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually very quiet.
