Laboratory Supervisor - Clinical Lab Processing

Come join our team of dedicated professionals in this leadership opportunity at our Venice Family Clinic. Under the guidance of the Director of Clinical Operations, the Laboratory Supervisor (LAB PROCESSING SUPV 1) will provide clinical laboratory services and supervision in a primary care clinic setting.

Key Responsibilities Include:

• Collecting, processing, and routing lab samples for processing.
• Providing phlebotomy services for lab sample collection while maintaining high standards of care.
• Conducting routine screening tests, and as needed arranging for transportation of samples.
• Running daily quality control tests, and maintaining logs for all tests results.
• Direct supervision of laboratory personnel, and provide oversight to phlebotomy students completing their clinical hour requirements.
• Collaborating with other supervisors to have uniformity in process at other sites.
• Maintaining laboratory inventory supplies, ensuring laboratory is in compliance with all CLIA waived regulations, and processing lab invoices for payment.

Note that 604 Rose Avenue is this role's primary work location but this role will float to other sites for oversight as needed.

Salary range: $32.95 - $67.53 Hourly

Required:

• Working knowledge of primary care laboratory operations.
• Ability to perform phlebotomy procedures (phlebotomy certificate).
• Working knowledge of principles and practices of staff supervision.
• Skill in troubleshooting equipment and performing minor repairs.
• Knowledge of universal precautions, and the ability to apply basic laboratory safety practices when handling specimens.
• Skill in organizing patient specimens for testing, and ability to maintain accuracy despite constant interruptions.
• Working knowledge of PC with clinical applications.
• Ability to prioritize effectively, use independent judgement, and complete assignments on schedule.
• Effective interpersonal skills; ability to interact effectively with the public and establish and maintain effective working relationships.
• Effective leadership abilities; ability to motivate staff to meet departmental goals and objectives, and demonstrated skill in effectively directing people and delegating work.
• Ability and willingness to think critically and to continually assess the effectiveness of procedures and processes.
• Must be able to remain in a stationary position for long periods of time.
• Ability to position self and move in a repetitive fashion.
• Ability to travel/float to other sites as needed.
