The Payroll Financial Analyst III/IV is responsible for ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations and company policies. The role involves preparing payroll tax filings, maintaining payroll records, and reconciling payroll related accounts resulting in accurate financial reporting and sound internal controls ensuring data integrity. This position can be located in any of the following locations: Bend, OR - Portland, OR - Boise, ID - Bismarck, ND - Sioux Falls, SD or near a Knife River location. Education and/or work experience requirements:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in business, accounting, finance, human resources, or a related field.
- Experience: 5+ years of experience in payroll processing, tax filings, and financial analysis.
- Skills: Strong working knowledge of applicable payroll laws and regulations.

- Payroll Software Proficiency: Familiarity with payroll systems
- Financial Analysis: Ability to analyze financial data and generate reports.
- Accounting Knowledge: Understanding of accounting principles and practices.

- Customer Service: Providing support and assistance to employees and companies regarding payroll inquiries.

- Prioritization: Prioritizing tasks to ensure timely payroll processing and reporting.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certifications: CPA or CPP certification is a plus.
Job Responsibilities:
- Payroll Processing: Ensure accurate and timely processing of federal, state, and local payroll taxes and reporting.
- Compliance: Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze payroll-related financial reports.
- Data Analysis: Analyze payroll data to identify trends, discrepancies, and areas for improvement.
- Reconciliation: Reconcile payroll accounts and resolve any discrepancies.
- Process Improvements and Standardization: Actively participate in process improvements and standardization of payroll systems and software.
- Audit Support: Provide support during internal and external audits.
- Data Requests: Respond to non-routine data requests or create ad hoc reports.
- Research: Research payroll law and apply knowledge to business practices and system set-up.
