Waste & Recycling Worker - Full Time Bloomington, MN, USA Req #1018 Monday, March 31, 2025 PURPOSE: To provide waste removal and related services in order to maintain a highest standard of cleanliness and safety at Mall of America. To ensure guests to Mall of America have a positive shopping and entertainment experience. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES: Separate the waste from recyclables Move wheeled recycling/trash bins from recycling rooms throughout the mall to loading dock and dump into proper container Empty trash and cardboard containers into compactors and operate compactors Sweep and operate a power scrubber to clean back of house areas Operate pressure washing equipment Sweep and mop waste room floors Lift trash bags into waste containers Empty grease barrels in restaurants and food court tenants Operate electric tug to transport waste and cardboard containers in sublevel Load cardboard and plastic into the proper baler and tie off the bales when full Operate a forklift to move items on around loading dock Monitor loading dock activity to ensure items are thrown away in the proper location Ensure emergency stairwell and exits are clear of trash and debris Ensure the overall safety of the immediate work area as well as surrounding areas Regular, reliable and consistent attendance Provide outstanding internal and external guest service at all times Additional duties as assigned. PREFERRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES: Must be at least 18 years of age Ability to work variable and/or rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, holidays Must be able to safely perform the physical tasks involved with lifting, sweeping, mopping, driving and operating powered industrial and custodial equipment PHYSICAL JOB REQUIREMENTS: Stand/Walk -Frequently, 90% of time Kneel and bend-Frequently, 90% of time Push/Pull- frequently, 80% of time Reach at or below shoulder level-frequently, 80% of time Perform repetitive motion-frequently 80% of time Stoop/Squat-frequently, 80% of time Lifting/carrying up to 75 lbs- frequently, 80% of time Lift/carry more than 75lbs - occasionally, 20% of time Reach at or above shoulder level-frequently, 80% of time Handle larger items, such as trash bags/containers-frequently, 90% time Starting pay: $18 Pay is based on many aspects which vary based on position.
