Department Information The Office of New Student & Transition Programs supports new and continuing student success in the Georgia Tech community through a wide range of programs. These initiatives focus on fostering the transition and engagement of students in the Tech community: FASET Orientation (First Year, Transfer, Exchange Students and Guests); Wreck Camp (Extended Orientation Camp); Week of Welcome (partner); Connect First-Year Leadership Program; Transfer Programs; and Leadership Opportunities (FASET cabinet & leaders, Wreck Camp directors & staff, Connect advisors).
Job Summary
The New Student & Transition Program Coordinator will provide program direction and support to promote student development, transition and retention.
This position will interact on a consistent basis with: Faculty, Staff and Students.
This position will typically advise and counsel: Students.

Responsibilities
Job Duty 1 - Collaborate closely with other student life units, academic affairs, faculty, student leaders, and residence life to develop, implement, market, and assess targeted initiatives.
Job Duty 2 - Assist with creating and implementing New Student & Transition Program (NSTP) assessment efforts. Plan, execute, and assess current programs aimed at student development, transition, and retention. Plan and execute NSTP event logistics. Increase program awareness through the development of communication/marketing materials and management of social media/online presence.
Job Duty 3 - Manage program budgets and solicit new funding to support programs.
Job Duty 4 - Serve as a member of the professional staff assisting with student orientation convocation, and community connections.
Job Duty 5 - Lead recruitment efforts for NSTP Student Leaders. Serve as a primary advisor to assigned student groups.
Job Duty 6 - Create and improve yearly student transition programs.
Job Duty 7 - Oversee student participation and logistics for assigned orientation programs.
Job Duty 8 - Increase program awareness through the development of communication/marketing materials and management of social media/online presence.
Job Duty 9 - Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Educational Requirements Bachelor's Degree in Education Administration, Student Affairs, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Other Required Qualifications Degree in fields such as Higher Education Administration, Student Affairs, Counseling, College Student Personnel, or related Required Experience One to three years of job-related experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Additional Preferred Qualifications Knowledge of learning outcomes for orientation, transition, and new student programs is preferred
Preferred Educational Qualifications Master's Degree in Higher Education Administration, Student Affairs, Counseling, College Student Personnel, or related field.
Preferred Experience Two to three of job-related knowledge of learning outcomes for orientation, transition and new student programs.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
ABILITIES o Must have flexibility in on-site daily service delivery hours o The job requires occasional travel up to 10% or more of the time
KNOWLEDGE o Experience with program development o This job requires knowledge of student development theory o Knowledge of learning outcomes for orientation, transition, and new student programs is preferred
SKILLS Effective communication, presentation, interpersonal, organizational and customer service skills

This is not a supervisory position. This position has financial responsibilities. This position will not be required to drive. This role is considered a position of trust. This position does not require a purchasing card (P-Card). This position may travel up to 10% of the time. This position does not require security clearance. Job Grade: A7 Salary: $47,872 to $58,656 commensurate with experience Location: Atlanta, GA 30332 (Hybrid option up to 1 day per week)
