Stanley Consultants is seeking a Water/Wastewater Section Manager. Stanley Consultants is actively working in the Water/Wastewater Market across several geographic markets and needs additional leadership to maintain our current market presence while assisting our existing team to build Stanley's water market presence. In doing so, this position will lead and deliver water, wastewater, and groundwater projects in either the State of Louisiana, Florida, or Colorado. This individual will be responsible for the development and management of all aspects of municipal water and wastewater utility system project planning, design, and services during construction under the direction and leadership of our National Department Manager.

The Water/Wastewater Section Manager will have a network of water/wastewater related connections and regional expertise in one or more of the following:



  • Water distribution, transmission, and storage
  • Water treatment
  • Wastewater conveyance and peak weather flow infrastructure
  • Wastewater treatment
  • Water Reuse
  • Pump Stations
  • Hydraulic modeling
  • Asset management
  • Risk and resiliency consulting and design
  • Data analytics, GIS, process automation, dynamic system modeling, and smart water system planning, design, and implementation


What You Will Be Doing:



  • Manages organizational functions assigned to department including personnel administration; project quality assurance and project team support; support of technical organization; and support of business development.
  • Recommends department plans, programs and resources, including staff budgets and capital expenditures, and manages and executes those approved to meet line organization objectives.
  • Supervises and develops Project Managers, and/or department members to meet established objectives.
  • Recommends hiring, salaries, promotion, transfer, demotion, and termination of department members.
  • Drafts and reviews scopes and fees for new department proposals.
  • Responsible for and reports department status, results, and performance.
  • Balances workload within department
  • Serves as Project Manager on key department projects.
  • Leading teams in the delivery of water/wastewater projects.
  • Participation in local professional organizations, preparing, and presenting market specific papers and presentations.
  • Work in collaboration with other disciplines (civil, mechanical, electrical, I&C, structural, and CAD) in producing plans and specifications.
  • Assisting in marketing business opportunities with key clients and development of responses to RFP/RFQs.
  • Providing marketing and support during the procurement and execution of projects.
  • Developing and maintaining long-term relationships with clients.
  • Consistently managing and delivering projects on time and within budget.
  • Desire and ability to manage and mentor staff.


Required Qualifications:



  • A minimum of a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in either Civil Engineering, or Environmental Engineering is required; a Master of Science (MS) degree is preferred.
  • A minimum of 8+years of relevant experience.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license in State of work is required; or must be able to obtain within 6 months of hire date.
  • Must possess a network of water/wastewater professionals/contacts.
  • Regional and technical expertise in water and wastewater engineering
  • Active participation in professional organizations.
  • Possess strong verbal, computer, and organizational skills.
  • Must have excellent technical writing skills.
  • Possess strong client relationship skills.
  • Must have excellent design team leadership skills.



Base Compensation
: $108,500 - $144,400

Stanley Consultants is committed to maintaining transparency in our hiring process, including providing information about compensation. The starting salary for the successful candidate in this position is competitive and will be determined by the selected candidate's qualifications and experience, geographic location, internal equity, company policy and practices.

Stanley's Approach to Flexibility

While some members choose to work out of their local office on a full-time basis, we offer a hybrid schedule for eligible positions consisting of two days a week in the office, two days a week remotely, and Friday being a flexible day that can be worked either in the office or at home. Eligible roles can also offer a compressed workweek schedule. Members who participate will be assigned a 9/80 work schedule, meaning every other Friday off!
