Acara solutions is looking for Comms test & commissioning technicians to work for our partner located near LAX who specializes in transportation manufacturing.

OVERALL PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:
- As part of its awarded contract for the Automated People Mover System for the Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), our partner has in its scope the design, supply and commissioning of the automated vehicles, CBTC signaling and communication systems.
- The role of the Comms Test & Commissioning Technician is to participate in the execution of the on-site T&C activities for Communication systems which comprises of the Trackside and On-board Radio systems (TETRA, Wi-Fi), Backbone data network, Video Surveillance System (VSS), Audio/Video Recorders, Passenger Announcements and Information Systems (PAPIS), Cybersecurity and SCADA. In addition for these activities, he/she will execute installation suppervision and support to the EI (Electrical Installer), Field Modifications (FMI) and PICO (Post Installation Check-outs).
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Execute testing and reporting activities consciously with safety, quality, and in a proper manner according to the Testing and Commissioning process and approved procedures,
- Use the correct tools and equipment to perform the software, electrical and mechanical test activities. Ensure the equipment and tools are properly calibrated and well maintained,
- Perform and provide preliminary investigations report on faults identified during the site testing,
- Support the T&C Engineer/Lead in the consolidation of the tests records for officially submission to the customer,
- Work closely with the T&C Engineer/Leader to conduct the necessary troubleshooting of systems and equipment in order to identify the root cause and integration issues,
- Assist the T&C Engineer in charge in the identification, recording and traceability of non-conformities, defects, and other workmanship issues,
- Provide daily progress report to the COM T&C Leader,
- Ensure the application of all EHS Golden rules (AZDP) during T&C activities
Required Skills / Qualifications:
- Minimum of a Associates degree/Higher National Certificate (or recognized equivalent) in relevant engineering field
- Minimum of 3 years experience in relevant experience
- Multidisciplinary and polyvalent (especially in IT and electrical),
- Ability to read and understand electrical cabling drawings and diagrams,
- Technical experience with configuring and troubleshooting wired and wireless equipment,
- Experience in installing/deploying Operating Systems, Software and data solutions,
- Experience in SCADA systems and components (server, RTU, PLC),
- Strong IT skills and use of diagnostic software
