As the Executive Director, US Development Technical Liaison (DTL) you will play a pivotal role in ensuring that small molecule generic products selected for the US market are developed and approved in accordance with agreed timelines, leading to timely launch in the US. The DTL will accomplish this by serving as the primary point of contact between key functions in the U.S. Development and Commercial organization, Sandoz Global Platform Heads, Project Management, and the various small molecule Sandoz Development Centers (SDCs) to advance US products through the technical development stages and to drive activities that will ultimately maximize the probability of on-time launch.

The DTL interfaces and collaborates with SGD platform Heads, SDC leadership and Project Management, and the US Scientific Affairs organization to understand the technical challenges, milestones and key activities of US projects and prioritize activities that lead to achieving on-time launch. The DTL constructively challenges the SDCs and other SGD stakeholders to best ensure that we achieve our project timelines, assists in mitigating delays, and escalates to the VP, Scientific Affairs and other senior leaders as appropriate. In fulfilling this role, the DTL will partner with SGD and the Commercial organization to increase the development success rate and deliver the promised value of these projects to attain our strategic goals

Your additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Liaise with Sandoz Development Centers (Small Molecules Technical Development), Project Management and the Small Molecules Development Platforms to drive enhanced and improved planning, coordination, and execution of the U.S. pipeline project management ensuring alignment between (Global) SGD and the US Commercial organization (especially Commercial, Portfolio and IP) and enable improvements/acceleration in project execution for priority projects. Similarly, work closely with external US BD&L partners to manage agreed key milestones and drive product availability in keeping with US pipeline and launch strategy in mind.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional with US and global teams to enhance communication and streamline the drug development and decision-making processes in the US.
  • Provide regular updates to US senior management on project status and risks, including any areas that require escalation.
  • Create and monitor KPIs for key milestones related to US priority projects, challenging, driving for solutions and escalating as appropriate
  • Foster a culture of open communication, trust and collaboration across departments, as well as towards global functions and the SDCs

Minimum Requirements

Education:

  • Minimum of a master's degree is required.
  • Advanced scientific degree preferred.

Work Experience/Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 10 years prior experience in scientific/development roles (or equivalent)
  • Strong working knowledge of advancing products through the technical development stages and processes strongly preferred
  • Deep scientific understanding of the Gx drug development process
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Strong enterprise mindset and sense of accountability
  • Demonstrated willingness to question, challenge and partner to overcome barriers.

Travel Requirements:

  • Travel in this role (not exceeding 10%) may be required.

Desirable Requirements:

The Development Technical Liaison will have extensive drug development experience in generic drugs as well as project management expertise, brings a deep understanding of all phases of development and demonstrated understanding of our Sandoz development platforms.

Your passion for science and drug development as well as your ability to organize and communicate strategy, goals and progress across Development and US Commercial teams, will help enable further patient access to medicines in the US in the future.

Location:

This position will be located at the Princeton, NJ site and will not have the ability to be located remotely. Preference will be given to local candidates not requiring relocation.

Our Sandoz flexible-hybrid working approach allows US office-based employees to work up to 50% of their monthly workdays remotely.

The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $204,400 and $379,600/year; however, while salary ranges are effective from 1/1/25 through 12/31/25, fluctuations in the job market may necessitate adjustments to pay ranges during this period. Further, final pay determinations will depend on various factors, including, but not limited to geographical location, experience level, knowledge, skills and abilities. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a sign-on bonus, restricted stock units, and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment. If hired, employee will be in an "at-will position" and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.

On September 30, 2021, Sandoz entered into a 5-year Corporate Integrity Agreement. Certain positions will have responsibilities to support the execution and adherence to CIA obligations, CIA-related deliverables, and any relevant audit, monitoring or Independent Review Organization (IRO) remediation.
