Optum is seeking an Executive Assistant with exceptional communication, proactive planning and thorough organization skills. In this position, you will support several senior executives while enjoying long-term career growth opportunities in a fast-paced, positive and collaborative team environment.

This position requires outstanding skills in the areas of relationship building, communication, and partnerships with key individuals at all levels in the organization. This role requires a proactive and resourceful individual with solid organizational skills, the ability to handle sensitive information with discretion, and a capacity to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

This Executive Assistant will work onsite in UnitedHealth Group's New York City, NY office a minimum of four days a week.

Primary Responsibilities:



  • Provide day-to-day administrative support with proven attention to detail and sound judgement in a timely manner consistent with the highest level of performance and professionalism
  • Effectively communicate with C-suite executives, other executive assistants and colleagues while building effective relationships and operating as a team player
  • Management of up to three executive's calendar and meeting scheduling, exercising judgement to ensure conflicts are prioritized effectively
  • Be a workflow manager by knowing when deliverables are due and ensuring that deadlines are met
  • Proactively reach out to colleagues across the organization to obtain necessary information and materials
  • Represent the leadership and Optum business with professionalism and grace by providing exceptional service to executives and those they work with
  • Be proactive and a forward thinker with the ability to work independently to anticipate, prevent and solve problems
  • Support onsite and offsite meetings with internal and external stakeholder, and manage logistics, including schedules/agendas, addressing technology requirements, virtual meeting links, meeting materials, catering, etc.
  • Monitor email and identify urgent requests
  • Handle sensitive and confidential information with the utmost of discretion
  • Maintain a high level of organization and attention to detail
  • Coordinate domestic and international travel, prepare detailed travel itineraries and process expense reports
  • Create a welcoming environment for guests and employees
  • Contribute to ad-hoc projects as needed
  • Provide occasional support to other members of the executive team as needed

Required Qualifications:



  • High School diploma or GED
  • 8+ years of experience as an administrative professional supporting C-Suite level executives including managing:


    • multiple tasks/calendars for leadership
    • travel arrangements and creating and submitting expense reports
    • scheduling and planning of meetings and events
    • office documentation and supplies
    • confidential and sensitive information per policies


  • 8+ years of experience with Microsoft suite of applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams)
  • Experience successfully collaborating with peers and colleagues in a team environment
  • Reside within a commutable distance of New York City
  • Ability to work onsite in the NYC office a minimum of four days a week

The hourly range for this role is $23.70 to $45.00 per hour based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
