Overview:

We are looking for an energetic, analytical, and creative thinker who enjoys meeting people. This high-profile position involves managing relationships with key distribution partners, decision-makers, and operations teams. As a Channel Partner Consultant, you will be responsible for the successful onboarding, growth, and retention of new and existing distribution partners. Effectiveness in distribution partner/client relationships, problem resolution, contract renewal negotiation, and consultative growth are critical to the mutual success of our clients and Securian.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Act as the primary resource for ongoing account-level needs, managing large relationships with complex financial arrangements, multiple products, and cross-market opportunities. Facilitate client business reviews and provide expertise on Securian products and services to optimize and develop new opportunities. Recommend relationship improvements and investments to retain and grow accounts.

  • Serve as the intermediary and first point of contact between Securian's Home Office and existing insurance clients and distributors. Represent Securian to internal and external partners, ensuring clear communication and goal alignment. Prioritize business needs and make recommendations for resource allocation. Represent the business line at distributor and industry programs and events, addressing any issues to maintain relationship health.

  • Lead, monitor, and support the implementation of client programs, projects, and distribution opportunities. Support the Sales Team in prospecting, acquisition, and RFPs for new and existing clients. Assess client special requests and collaborate with internal stakeholders on special projects and implementations.

  • Coordinate relationship activities for existing FIG clients and channel partners, understanding their needs and coordinating tasks to support business relationships. Facilitate and track client requirements, coordinate external channel partner reports, and manage Salesforce data for existing clients and distribution relationships.

Qualifications:

  • Ability to identify root problems or opportunities, looking for interdependencies and recognizing broad implications of issues, to mitigate ongoing obstacles to the success of the division and Securian.

  • Decision-making ability to respond appropriately and in a timely manner to client and team needs.

  • Strong initiative and leadership in building relationships, identifying issues, and working proactively to meet client and business needs.

  • Demonstrated independence, as well as the ability to work in a team environment to facilitate the use of Home Office resources to resolve issues in a timely manner.

  • Strong organizational skills and results orientation, with follow-through.

  • Ability to travel - approximately 4-6 trips per year.

The estimated base pay range for this job is:

$69,500.00 - $129,000.00

Pay may vary depending on job-related factors and individual experience, skills, knowledge, etc. More information on base pay and incentive pay (if applicable) can be discussed with a with a member of the Securian Financial Talent Acquisition team.
