Patient Navigation & Business Services at UCLA Health is seeking applications for a highly skilled Patient Care and Relationship Manager who is bilingual in Arabic to help international patients navigate through the UCLA Health system.

The Patient Care and Relationship Manager will receive guidance and direction from the Manager of Patient and Partner Relations, and is responsible for providing outreach and visits with patients, physicians, affiliates and other key constituencies to advance network growth strategies.

Key Duties Include:

  • Building relationships with potential sources of new patient referrals, new providers and develops tactics to increase the patient referral base.
  • Coordinating logistics for international patients who seek medical care from UCLA Health.
  • Attend international patient appointments for social support and medical interpretation.
  • Managing complex strategic relationships with high profile international patients, government medical advisors and other current and potential referring partners around the world.
  • Working closely with International Case Managers in facilitating patients' transitions of care and providing or making arrangements for patient support services as needed by the international patient.
  • Contributing to identifying strategies and plans to expand UCLA Health's network of care, and recommends strategic outreach initiatives using their knowledge of and experience in specific regions and cultures of the world.
  • Identifying service or process improvements to enhance patients and physicians' experiences with UCLA.
  • Contribute to the patients' healthcare journey at UCLA to ensure that they have excellent patient experience.

The University of California, Los Angeles is required to provide a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. This range takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be offered a salary at or near the top of the range for a position. Salary offers are determined based on final candidate qualifications and experience. The full salary range for this position is $83,800.00 - $179,400.00 Annually.

Qualifications
Requirements/Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience/training.
  • Verbal and written fluency in both English and Arabic.
  • Experience working in a healthcare environment with an understanding of the continuum of patient care and the patient journey.
  • Strong knowledge of health care industry trends, including advanced knowledge of the medical center or health system's product lines and services.
  • Ability to work after hours, on-call, and weekends without supervision and exercise independent thinking and decision making.
  • Strong interpersonal communication, relationship building and political acumen skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with physicians, staff, patients, high level government officials and healthcare leaders
  • Demonstrated ability to interact with high profile and high-ranking officials of domestic and foreign governments, corporations, and NGOs.
  • Creative problem solving skills, and the ability to independently analyze information and situations to assess opportunities and issues and develop solutions.
  • Demonstrated ability in diplomacy, discretion, tact and sound judgment, and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, and technical skills to learn specialized applications and tools in the field. Knowledge of Medical Terminology.
  • Ability to represent an organization independently with a high degree of ethical standards.
  • Skill in organizing and prioritizing workload in order to meet deadlines in a changing, fast paced environment with frequent interruptions and competing requirements.
Certification in medical interpretation in Arabic is highly preferred.
