Come and join our team at this 605-room convention center hotel in the heart of downtown Oklahoma City. Our luxury hotel is located next to the Paycom Center(OKC Thunder), the Oklahoma Convention Center and across the street from the 70-acre Scissortail Park.

The property includes an all-day dining outlet (Seltzer's Modern Diner), an entertainment sports bar (OKC Tap House), specialty restaurant (Bob's Steak & Chop House), coffee shop (Park Grounds) and a retail outlet (RareBird Gift Shop). Additionally, guests can enjoy a Mokara Spa, fitness center and a rooftop pool and bar (CatBird Seat) complete with a fire pit, outdoor lawn and cabanas. The hotel offers 76,000 square feet of meeting and event space inclusive of a 20,000 square foot ballroom, 10,000 square foot ballroom, and a 4,200 square foot outdoor pre-function space that overlooks the park.



Job Description

The Senior Stewarding Supervisor will oversee and manage the day-to-day operations of the stewarding department for assigned shifts. This position will be responsible for supervising the team, ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness, sanitation, and equipment maintenance are maintained, as well as optimizing workflow efficiency. Additionally, the Senior Stewarding Supervisor will mentor and guide staff, ensuring policies, procedures, and safety protocols are consistently followed. This role also serves as a lead for more complex tasks and resolves issues as they arise, supporting both staff and management.



Responsibilities

    Supervise and lead the stewarding team to ensure operational efficiency and cleanliness standards are met or exceeded.
  • Lead by example to foster a positive work environment, focusing on team performance, motivation, and professional development.
  • Foster a culture of excellence, teamwork, and professionalism among stewarding staff.
  • Conduct regular team meetings to reinforce safety protocols, hygiene standards, and best operational practices.
  • Assign duties to team members and conduct regular performance evaluations to ensure high-quality service.
  • Ensure the proper distribution, cleaning, and maintenance of all China, silverware, glassware, and kitchen equipment.
  • Oversee the proper sanitation and cleaning of all kitchen areas, storage spaces, and equipment, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards.
  • Help oversee deep-cleaning schedules for kitchens, storage areas, and dishwashing stations to always maintain pristine conditions.
  • Oversee proper waste disposal and recycling procedures.
  • Manage and optimize work schedules, ensuring adequate staffing for each shift.
  • Review and reinforce operating procedures, policies, and safety standards with team members.
  • Proactively address and resolve any issues that arise during shifts, including staffing, equipment, or operational concerns.
  • Be the primary point of contact for escalated issues and provide solutions that align with company goals in the absence of the Executive Steward.
  • Monitor temp logs in outlets and ensure Stewards are properly logging temps.
  • Train, mentor, and develop stewarding staff to follow safety and hygiene protocols.
  • Mentor and train stewards and supervisory staff, including those with limited experience, to ensure they understand procedures, policies, and company standards.Identify opportunities for staff development and conduct regular training sessions to improve efficiency and performance.
  • Monitor and manage inventory levels for stewarding supplies and equipment, ensuring the department is adequately stocked and prepared for events or daily operations.
  • Work with the Executive Steward to manage the purchase and repair of equipment, ensuring minimal downtime.
  • Collaborate with the culinary and front-of-house teams to ensure smooth coordination of service and operations.
  • Support banquet and event operations by ensuring proper setup and breakdown of equipment.
  • Communicate effectively with management regarding departmental issues, staffing levels, and any other concerns requiring attention.
  • Coordinate with maintenance teams for necessary repairs or replacements.
  • Prepare daily reports and assist in tracking departmental performance metrics.
  • Complete and submit necessary paperwork and documentation related to operations, incidents, or training.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Executive Steward
  • Attain meeting in the absence of Executive Steward.
  • Ensure consistent adherence to company policies and industry regulations.
  • Implement and monitor proper storage and handling of chemicals and hazardous materials.
  • Be available for all shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.


Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years of supervisory or management experience in stewarding or a similar role, preferably in a hotel or large foodservice environment.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage and motivate a team, while maintaining a high level of professionalism and customer service.
  • Proficient in the use of stewarding and kitchen equipment, as well as cleaning and sanitation procedures.
  • Strong knowledge of safety protocols, food safety, and sanitation regulations.
  • Ability to perform under pressure and manage multiple tasks at once.
  • Ability to effectively train, coach, and develop staff with varying skill levels.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in both written and spoken English.
  • Must possess a valid Food Handler's Permit.
  • Must have the ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Must be willing to live within 50 miles of the hotel.
  • Ability to stand or sit for extended periods during shifts.
  • Must be able to lift and carry 20-75 lbs., with frequent bending, reaching, and twisting motions.
  • Ability to work with potentially hazardous chemicals and cleaning materials.
