Job Description

Job Summary:The Technical Product Manager has ownership and accountability to help identify, plan, and coordinate the development and support of customer facing digital E-commerce and Lodge Automation technology solutions. The purpose of this role is to create best in class digital solutions that will empower our guests to engage through our digital channels. The Technical Product Manager (TPM) will create roadmap, define features and innovate on trends to optimize conversion, drive sales, and allow guests to self-service through our digital channels. This role is located in Chicago, Illinois.

The position requires day-to-day interaction with product management, including defining market requirements, product requirement documents and packaging the features into product releases. The TPM works closely with key customers, product architects and development, marketing, sales, and support to develop and manage new product functionality and releases. The TPM maintains the product technical road map, creates concept documents, business and use cases for new services, features and functions to support customer demands, growth strategies and profitability targets.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop the roadmap strategy, vision, business benefits, and prioritization of goals for omnichannel experience, focusing on strategic growth initiatives
  • Maintain deep understanding of initiatives to develop requirements for features and work alongside development to determine technical feasibility
  • Keep up to date with evolving ecommerce and technology trends, and explore new and effective products or enhancements that will improve site & mobile experiences to lift user traffic, engagement, and conversion
  • Collaborate effectively with executive and department stakeholders within the division to understand the needs of the business as it relates to digital and omni-channel
  • Develop deep product understanding to determine useful ways for guests to use smart technology to enhance their experience pre stay and onsite
  • Collaborate with the engineering and design teams to manage timelines and frequent product iterations
  • Contribute to the collection of relevant data to track the success of new programs and features and make decisions based on this data
  • Collaborate with leaders in Product, Operations, and Revenue Management to continually optimize conversion and increase revenue per visit in our digital channels
  • Understand, research and follow technical trends in the industry and in general. Assess emerging products and companies to measure their potential value or threat to the company and its products, as well as make recommendations on which new technologies to invest in or leverage
  • Coordinate A/B and beta tests and analyze their performance
  • Use database queries to analyze performance indicators, evaluate experiments, etc.
  • Define success criteria for testing and product acceptance
  • Work with development leads so that product requirements are understood
  • Coordinate product releases with product, marketing, sales, and development teams
  • Work closely with technical internal teams, including engineering and development, to write user stories and requirements
  • Evaluate competitors and the market for capability-oriented and emerging development and technology trends
  • Serve as primary product technical expert and evangelist
  • Act as a point of contact for external software providers and vendors

Required Qualifications:

  • A bachelor's degree is required. An advanced degree in a related field such as computer science and/or business (MBA) is preferred
  • 6+ years' experience in technical product management in a technology or e-commerce company
  • Strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience working in Agile environment
  • Deep knowledge and experience managing A/B and multivariate optimization testing, including tools like Optimizely
  • Excellent understanding of e-commerce KPIs and conversion and monetization levers
  • Must be self-motivated, detail-oriented and able to prioritize effectively.
  • Bias for collaborative action (team player who can drive action). Entrepreneurial mindset of finding a way even with roadblocks.
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience managing APIs, single page applications, and native mobile app products
  • Familiarity with technical subjects including microservices, API integrations, databases, caching, and high availability
  • Ability to work from our Chicago Corporate Headquarters on a hybrid-remote work schedule (M/F optional work from home and T/W/TH in-office)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with cross-platform application design experience including web and mobile applications
  • Experience optimizing website conversion and AOV in an e-commerce role preferred.
  • Experience in a cloud-native environment, ideally Azure
  • Enthusiasm and curiosity for new technology, be forward thinking and continuously researching disruptors and disruptive technologies to execute on innovative trends
  • Must be able to effectively interact and communicate with executive management
  • Familiarity leveraging LLMs and AI agents to accelerate application development
  • Experience integrating custom development with complex external systems including ERPs and other enterprise platforms
  • Hands on coding & development experience
  • Experience with technologies used in building e-commerce applications, including HTML/CSS/JavaScript, and ideally C#/ASP.NET Core, React, and React Native.
  • Experience with managing projects and products using Azure DevOps

Estimated Salary Range:

$100,000 - $180,000 annual base salary

An employee's pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, travel requirements, revenue-based metrics, any contractual agreements, and business or organizational needs. The range listed is just one component of Great Wolf's total compensation package. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, a Paid Time Off policy, and other perks.
