Your Role With Us:

  1. Patient Assessment & Monitoring: Evaluates patients, recognizes critical conditions, and alerts physicians as needed.
  2. History & Documentation: Obtains patient history, vital signs, and reassesses after interventions.
  3. Care Prioritization: Identifies urgent cases requiring immediate medical attention or transfer.
  4. Order Execution & Testing: Coordinates physician orders, initiates diagnostic tests per protocol, and ensures proper documentation.
  5. Workflow Adaptability: Adjusts efforts based on patient flow and collaborates with team members for smooth operations.
  6. Discharge & Patient Education: Provides clear discharge instructions, includes family when appropriate, and ensures follow-up care.
  7. Lab Testing & Medication Management: Performs basic lab tests per protocol and ensures safe medication administration.
  8. Clinical Competency: Maintains proficiency in all clinic-related care procedures.
  9. Electronic Documentation: Accurately records patient interactions, test results, and medical orders in Epic Ambulatory.
  10. Billing & Charge Assignment: Ensures accurate facility charge assignment for patient encounters.

    Background/Expertise:

    Licenses/Certifications/Registrations:

    • Must hold current medical assistant certification from AAMA, AMT, NHA or NCCT.
    • Must hold current BLS certification.

    Experience:

    1. Experience in either an urgent care facility or family practice office preferred.

    Special knowledge, skills, & abilities:

    1. Communications skills enabling adequate information flow in a pleasant manner, not only with co-workers and patients, but also with telephone, fax and computer communication.
    2. Competency in the performance of patient care skills.
    3. Organizational skills.
    4. Interpersonal skills.
    5. Adequate visual and hearing ability to read and perform clinical procedures safely.
    6. Manual dexterity adequate to perform skills and procedures required for safe patient care.
    7. Ability to safely pull and turn a minimum of 50 pounds unassisted and more than 100 pounds with assistance, and reach to accomplish duties.
    Comments/Other: * Ability to safely lift, pull, and turn a minimum of 50lbs. unassisted and over 100lbs. with assistance.
