The Reliability Engineer's primary duties are to utilize engineering skills to contribute to the life cycle of power tool products. The Reliability Engineer will define the test methods and product requirements needed to ensure durable, disruptive, and market-leading products during the mass production portion of the life cycle.

A successful candidate will bring curiosity, accountability, and knowledge in requirements definition, test development, validation, and data acquisition to the Product Support Engineering (PSE) and Value Engineering (VE) teams. The candidate enjoys a fast-paced work environment with excellent visibility and opportunities to grow.

?Duties and Responsibilities

?Product Development

  • Be knowledgeable in the PSE/VE team with respect to test methods, product requirements, user needs, and reliability with validation focus on change point

  • Develop critical to quality (CTQ) requirements from collaboration with product management and participation in user needs research

  • Collaborate with engineering and marketing to ensure product specifications with respect to all aspects of reliability, quality, and user needs are met

  • Design experimental techniques to improve development and testing efforts

  • Track multiple projects simultaneously to ensure adherence to schedule and the Milwaukee Tool process

?Testing and Analysis

  • Develop test procedures and create test plans to evaluate product performance against user and product requirements

  • Effectively document test plans, procedures, and best practices for execution in test laboratories

  • Perform data analysis, post-processing, and visualization of test data

  • Summarize test results with statistical techniques and present concise, logical, written conclusions

  • Ensure timely failure reporting and drive root cause analysis and effective corrective/preventative actions (FRACAS)

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or related engineering field.

  • Analytical problem-solving skills and statistical application in areas such as design of experiments, sampling techniques, regression, reliability, FMEAs, hypothesis testing, etc.

  • Previous knowledge with life data analysis, reliability distributions, and statistical analysis, and related software (e.g. Minitab, Reliasoft Weibull++)

  • Written and verbal communication skills with creative problem-solving capabilities

  • Ability to travel 10% (includes both domestic and international)
