The Senior Specialist, Email Marketing will play a critical role in the development, execution, and optimization of strategic email marketing initiatives for the our client. This role supports multi-channel fundraising efforts and customer experience enhancements by managing high-volume email campaigns from concept to completion.

We're looking for an experienced email marketer who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and has the technical acumen, creativity, and project management skills to drive meaningful engagement and results.

Location: 100% Remote
Duration: 9 months (possibility to extend or convert)
Pat Rate: $35.00 - $52.55/hour
Key Responsibilities
  • Support and execute coordinated, multi-channel marketing strategies to enhance the donor and constituent experience.
  • Manage end-to-end email production: planning, content integration, testing, deployment, reporting, and optimization.
  • Own and maintain the clients email calendar, ensuring alignment with broader marketing goals and campaign schedules.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and cross-functional teams to define and deliver email communications that meet business objectives (fundraising revenue, event participation, mission engagement).
  • Implement and optimize customer journeys using Salesforce Marketing Cloud (SMC) and Pardot.
  • Leverage performance data to inform strategy, identify trends, and refine campaign effectiveness.
  • Serve as platform subject matter expert; support internal training and resource development.
  • Ensure compliance with privacy and spam regulations, including CAN-SPAM, GDPR, and other global standards.
  • Stay current on email best practices, technologies, and nonprofit fundraising trends.
Job Requirements
Required Skills / Qualifications:
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in email or digital marketing, preferably in a nonprofit setting.
  • Proficient in Salesforce Marketing Cloud and Salesforce Pardot.
  • SMC Email Specialist certification (can be completed upon hire).
  • Strong technical skills: working knowledge of HTML, with experience in AMPScript and SQL preferred.
  • Hands-on experience with marketing automation tools and platforms.
  • Experience using analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics) and third-party testing platforms (e.g., Movable Ink, Email on Acid, Return Path).
  • Proven ability to manage multiple campaigns and deliverables simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Skills / Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated success in launching and managing high-performing email campaigns.
  • Understanding of nonprofit marketing, digital engagement, and peer-to-peer fundraising tactics.
  • Positive, self-starter attitude with assertive follow-through and a keen eye for detail.
