Dematic has an immediate need for a Controls Engineering Manager in our Customer Service Modernizations & Upgrades group supporting the entire controls team in the Salt Lake City manufacturing plant where new cranes are designed and built for both greenfield and brownfield sites. Candidates that have proven leadership and organizational skills, proven control systems/PLC/VFD programming and a passion for automation will be a great fit for this team! Experience with SRMs and working with Dematic manufacturing teams is a plus. Candidate must be based in Salt Lake City, UT manufacturing plant, and must be open to 25% travel to our customer sites in the United States. What we offer:

Tasks and Qualifications:

What You Will do in This Role:

  • Develop team that commissions complex systems that integrate hardware and software.
  • Develop team that designs schematics and control panels.
  • Completes recommendations for ideas related to productivity improvement, cost reduction and improvement in customer satisfaction.
  • Develop team in PLC programming.
  • Assist in complex technical interchange and knowledge transfer for both processes and application of products to system design.
  • Performs full range of standard work for the professional field.
  • Applies problem-solving skills
  • Interact with the customer
  • Travel no more than 25% to customer sites in the USA

What We are Looking For:

  • BSEE or relevant field of study
  • 15+ years of industry experience
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Self-starting can-do attitude
  • Proven leadership with ability to manage teams and customers.
  • Proven skills in electrical/hardware design
  • Proven skills in either Rockwell or Siemens PLCs
  • Knowledgeable on AC drives, both open & closed loop
  • Experience in Ethernet IP network design and machine safety a plus
