Overview The Sierra Lobo Rocket Technology and Engineering Services II (RTES II) contract provides advise and assist services (A&AS) at the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) at Edwards AFB, California. AFRL conducts rocket propellant and rocket propulsion research, as well as developing associated test processes and facilities. The Senior Facility Technical Advisor will provide expert engineering advisory services for a variety of Aerospace rocket engine and missile motor RDT&E facilities. These facility capabilities range from small to very large thrust, sea-level to vacuum environments, and both horizontal and vertical orientations. The expert advisory focus will include all supporting systems and components required to operate an engine/motor firing type test. Further, the area of activities for engineering analyses and advice will be for existing capability as well as any current or future modifications and upgrades. This position will also serve to mentor and train future Government employees in the full spectrum of facility builds/modifications, adaptations for specific tests as well as the conducting of actual RDT&E test firings. The employee will participate in analysis of existing and future space-related systems through one or more of the following activities: Project and Portfolio Engineering: Analyzes and designs test facilities projects while working with internal and external stakeholders at all levels to define technical requirements, design for services and hardware, oversee delivery of services, and measure and report on performance.

We also develop products and processes related to Cryogenic Fluid and Thermal Management Systems, Densified Propellant Management Systems, and Prototype Extreme Pressure and Temperature Systems. Our customers include the Department of Defense (DoD), the U.S. Air Force, U.S. Navy, U.S. Army, Missile Defense Agency (MDA), and the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA).
