Provides project management support and expertise to the maintenance organization, directly supporting the Continuous Improvement group. The incumbent will be the liaison between Continuous Improvement, engineering, and maintenance. They will collaborate with cross functional areas to gain alignment to drive successful results. Additional responsibilities include conducting problem solving, root cause investigation, and eliminating process variation for improvement across technologies and lines using Lean / Continuous Improvement methodology.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for working with site Continuous Improvement resources to support improvements to equipment, work processes, product launches, cost savings initiatives, and strategic projects.
- Assisting in identifying safety requirements for assignments, validation of estimated time/manpower requirements, auditing task completion, validating materials and tools, supporting technical information requirements such as Management of Change (MOC), and Preventative Maintenance plan review.
- Strong knowledge of SAP and Microsoft applications such as Excel and Project Manager, these items are routinely utilized to support the evaluation and execution of the overall maintenance process and projects.
- Maintain a strong working relationship with our internal customers, collaborate with the planners to ensure maintenance activities are properly documented and prioritized within SAP. This process includes identification of potential line support competency gaps, developing collaborative plans to close any gaps, and validation of standard daily work execution expectations between shifts.
- Be a self-starter with driving meaningful change to improve production performance and clarity of work.
- Lead process improvement and problem-solving activities for the WCS and production teams. Project complexity will vary from basic process failures and breakdown analysis, through more complex DMAIC activities (Lean Six Sigma, Project leadership certification, etc.).
- Ability to flow to work in coverage situations to support the department and mentoring technicians within WCS to build skillsets.
- Ability to perform required equipment maintenance activities as a core job function supporting project implementation along with supporting flow to work in coverage situations to enable department coverage and mentoring technicians within WCS to build skillsets
Required Skills / Experience / Competencies:
- Five (5) years manufacturing experience with high-speed processing and/or packaging equipment.
- Three (3) years maintenance experience , or an equivalent combination of education and experience in a Technical Field of Study
- Working knowledge of Safety, Health and Environment principles and practices.
- Ability to fabricate and modify production equipment and/or their components.
- Demonstrate basic math and advanced measurement skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work successfully both independently with minimal supervision, as well as within a team environment.
- Demonstrated ability to use SAP as it relates to maintenance, parts ordering, etc.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written to include computer and all MS Office Suite Products.
Preferred Skills / Experience / Competencies:
- 3 - 5 years of electrical experience and/or 3 - 5 years of mechanical experience
- Demonstrated high degree of organization, prioritizing, and motivational skills.
- Ability to motivate and work well with cross functional teams to solicit input and develop ownership of key processes.
- Have been primary support or lead projects of 50K or more.
- High level of computer skills and capable of learning new applications.
- Proven track record of safe work with demonstrated safety leadership examples
- Knowledge of SAP systems as it pertains to maintenance and operations a plus.
- Experience with Project Management, leading / supporting cross functional teams
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to conduct effective meetings.
- TPM/Lean knowledge and application, including continual improvement process application.

- Ability to complete the essential functions of the job and tolerate the ergonomic stressors of the job. This includes lifting, up to fifty (50) pounds on a regular basis and up to seventy-five (75) pounds occasionally, standing, sitting, walking, bending, climbing stairs and ladders, kneeling, reaching overhead, pushing, and pulling for up to eight (8) hours daily.
