About the Team

Like every team at OpenAI, the Marketing team contributes to our broader mission of ensuring responsible and widespread adoption of artificial intelligence.
We are responsible for developing and executing strategies that drive awareness, engagement, and usage for OpenAI's products and platform amongst our core audiences.

We take a data-driven approach to understand our customers' needs and challenges, ensuring that their voices are reflected in product development and messaging. We partner closely with product, engineering, developer relations, comms, and sales teams to create a cohesive customer experience across all our channels. Our focus extends beyond just promoting product features; we aim to provide valuable insights and resources that help our users make the most out of AI technologies.

About the Role

As one of OpenAI's founding Customer Marketers, you will be responsible for showcasing the success of our customers. You'll create content highlighting how customers are building on the OpenAI API and using ChatGPT in their organizations to surge productivity.

This role requires a blend of marketing expertise, storytelling and content creation skills, and the ability to build strong relationships internally and externally. You will work closely with the sales, marketing, communications, events and customer success teams to identify impactful customer stories and find ways to amplify them. Your work will elevate our brand and inspire prospective customers looking for ideas on how to take advantage of artificial intelligence.

This role is based in San Francisco, CA. We use a hybrid work model of 3 days in the office per week and offer relocation assistance to new employees.

In this role, you will:

  • Develop customer success stories into compelling case studies we can feature on the OpenAI website and in other GTM collateral

  • Organize opportunities to bring customers and prospects together IRL - with external field events and hosting customers at the office

  • Source and maintain relationships with customer advocates that would participate in marketing campaigns or serve as references for the sales team

  • Coordinate with communications teams to amplify customer stories through various channels

  • Collaborate with the sales and marketing teams to leverage customer stories in marketing campaigns, like brand activations

  • Engage with customers to gather feedback and insights that drive product and support improvements

  • Measure and report on the effectiveness of case studies and reference materials in supporting sales and marketing objectives

You might thrive in this role if you:

  • 7+ years of B2B marketing experience

  • A passion for content creation, comfortable in both writing case studies and filming video testimonials with customers

  • Thrive in a fast-moving, dynamic, hyper-growth environment and are able to operate fluidly between the 30,000-foot strategy level and the micro-detail to get things right

  • Strong project management skills, with a knack for aligning cross-functional teams and timelines

  • Willingness to travel up to 10% of the time to engage with customers and prospects

  • Passionate about the transformative potential of AI, and considerate of its societal implications
