Mission/Purpose of the Job The Quality Inspector is responsible for assisting and supporting the Quality Engineers by providing production expertise to resolve Quality issues within the production operation. Ensure that the product meets customer's requirements (both internal and external) at each stage of its manufacturing process, carrying out relevant testing and where necessary take corrective action to rectify non-conformance issues. Report quality issues data, ensuring the Quality Management System is adhered to at all stages. Main Responsibilities 1. 80% of work may involve final assembly and in-process inspection 2. Performing in-process inspections during assembly line processes 3. Collaborating with the Cell Leaders to establish supportive documentation and inspection criteria for final product acceptability 4. Verify that all components and labeling are present, correct and in good condition as per the work order (SOP) 5. Verify that all special instructions pertaining to the products are carried out 6. Review all appropriate labeling as per the work order (SOP) 7. Assure that calibration is current and that the validation parameters are correct 8. Investigate any apparent non-conformance promptly and notify shift personnel as necessary 9. Complete documentation and place product on hold for further investigation when appropriate 10. Perform final inspections and in-process finished goods audits 11. Perform audits as directed 12. Perform incoming inspection 13. Perform special inspections under the direction of supervision or Quality Engineer 14. Perform data entry and manipulations per defined procedures and protocols 15. Assist in the training of personnel in the QA documentation requirements 16. Read and understand shop fabrication drawings 17. Read and understand specifications 18. Carry out product tests and thorough independent final inspection of finished assemblies, kits, and ship-with packages to defined procedures, formally reporting all defects 19. Responsible for checking, progressing and collating accurate build and inspection records 20. Provide technical support in the areas of incoming parts inspections, pre-delivery inspection and test, and production line quality support activities 21. Inspect and auditing of all components and all stages of the manufacturing process 22. Investigate any internal quality issues to identify root cause and raise appropriate corrective action paperwork and ensure issues are addressed and resolved 23. Ensure compliance and assist with adherence to the Quality Management system (ISO9001) 24. Support regular inspection meetings with representatives from appropriate departments to establish an action plan for improving build quality 25. Attend and report at regular improvement meetings, providing recommendations and technical support regarding preventative actions to external and internal quality related concerns 26. Ensure all products flow through the inspection department or are suitably verified through existing realization processes (i.e. pick and pack activities in the warehouse) 27. Ensure all incidents of non-conformance are recorded and reported to the appropriate Quality Engineer 28. Maintain the calibration system, ensuring all equipment is correctly calibrated 29. Assist as directed in the support of the internal audit program 30. Complies with safety rules, regulations and OSHA requirements 31. Maintains punctual, regular and predictable attendance; works collaboratively in a team environment with a spirit of cooperation 32. Respectfully takes direction from Quality Manager and Quality Engineers; other duties as assigned Skills / Knowledge / Experience
