DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Management Technician (MT), your primary responsibilities involve receiving, validating, monitoring, and processing the critical, sensitive, and confidential master vendor data, customer data, and business partner (BP) data for Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Internal Revenue Service (IRS). Work includes independently researching and making decisions with regard to mitigating risk of vendor fraud. Emphasis is placed on ensuring that specific quality and timeliness standards in performance of duties and provisions of customer service are met in order to achieve the mission, goals, and objectives of the BPS, the Office of the Budget (OB) Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) full-time, with occasional in-office days when work dictates such requirements. Please keep in mind that while this is a full-time telework position, that can change at any time at the Governor's discretion. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. More detail can be provided during the interview process.
  • Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $44,890 (before taxes).

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Three years of advanced clerical or para-professional work which included the collection, recording, compilation, and presentation of office management or program related information; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training. An Associate's Degree may be substituted for two years of required experience.

Additional Requirements:

  • You must have at least two years of experience in problem-solving, researching issues, and collecting and analyzing data, culminating in effective fraud prevention.
  • You must possess an associate's degree (or higher) in accounting or business management. Education may be substituted for two years of required experience.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Preferred Qualifications (not required):

  • College/university credits in business or accounting
  • Customer service experience
  • At least two years of experience working in an SAP/SRM accounting system
  • At least two years of experience using Oracle/CFIN
  • A typing speed of at least 40 words per minute (wpm)
