Endoscopy Technician - 40 Hours - Day Shift

GENERAL SUMMARY: Supports endoscopic procedures by preparing the equipment, field and managing specimens. Responsibilities: Prepares patients for procedures by reviewing medical history, appropriately positioning patient and cleaning/shaving/numbing testing sites as appropriate. Interprets, describes and reports test results. Recognizes recording errors and artifacts and reacts appropriately. Monitors patient prior to, during and after procedures and promptly reports any abnormal findings in patient's condition. Prepares and maintains equipment, supplies and lab area. POSITION SUMMARY: Henry Ford Macomb Oakland Hospital - Warren 7:00am - 5:30pm Overnight, weekends and holiday call required. Approximately 7 call shifts in a 6-week schedule period. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required. No additional preferences. CERTIFICATION/LICENSURES REQUIRED: BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
