In this entry level role, the Financial Analyst - Costing plays a crucial role in providing financial insights, analysis, and support to assist in decision-making processes at St. Jude. This position manages all system-related activities within Decision Support System

This role involves analyzing financial data, preparing reports, forecasting future trends, and working closely with various departments to provide valuable financial information.

Please Note: This is a hybrid schedule with 3 days working onsite requirement
  • Manages all system-related activities within Decision Support System
  • Reconcile and load monthly data related to clinical activity and costing function.
  • Load monthly financial data from Enterprise System to the Decision Support System
  • Perform annual patient costing cycle (includes meeting with Department Heads/Clinicians to review and update charge codes, RVU's and reclassification of department expense to ensure accuracy of patient care costing).
  • Aid end users for various projects and information requests from the Decision Support system.
  • Utilizing Web Intelligence reporting technology, prepares requested reports for clinical enterprise procedural activities and costs.
  • Serves as the point resource and develops reports for departments that use the DSS directly (Patient Accounting, Managed Care, and Financial Planning).
  • Works with department managers to develop overhead allocations and identify cost components. Develops methodology for determining costs at various levels (procedure, protocol, diagnosis, medical service, etc.).
  • Assesses the reasonability of costs assigned to service codes and products.
  • Assists in projects review product line and cost accounting data. Monitors all reports and completes reconciliation activities involving cost accounting data.

Minimum Education and/or Training:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or related field of study required.

Minimum Experience:

  • Minimum Requirement: 2+ years of experience in management/administration of financial/budgetary processes, preferably within a healthcare setting.
  • Some experience in healthcare finance and accounting involving budget development preferred.
  • EPIC experience desired.
  • Prior Workday experience preferred.
  • Decision Support / Adaptive experience a plus
  • Advanced Excel skills strongly preferred,

Compensation

In recognition of certain U.S. state and municipal pay transparency laws, St. Jude is including a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. This is an estimate offered in good faith and a specific salary offer takes into account factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the salary range and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current salary range is $65,520 - $114,400 per year for the role of Financial Analyst-Costing.
