Systems Administrator

BlueHalo, an AV Company, is looking for the right candidate to join our team and provide mid-career level system administration support for our customer at Schriever Space Force Base. This position supports the critical mission of the Satellite Control Network (SCN) and its operations and requires working second shift from 1400-2200, Monday through Friday. This is a 100% onsite, customer-facing position in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

With the support of senior IT staff, you will provide daily support and maintenance of Windows/Linux servers, workstations, cryptographic equipment, networking equipment, and satellite operations components such as WANIFs and SDRs. A typical day can include addressing user issues, account management, system upgrades/patching, and providing guidance related to future system enhancements.

The ideal candidate holds a TS/SCI security clearance, has a strong background in customer-facing technical support, and prior SCN or satellite operations experience. You should be comfortable handling time-sensitive issues, even when solutions require research and investigation.

This position is 100% on site at Schriever SFB.

Shift: Second shift from 1400-2200

Responsibilities:

• 
  

  With limited supervision, provide technical and system administration support to the SCN

  
  
• 
  

  Support Microsoft Virtualization, vCenter Configuration Manager, SIEM, DoD certificate management, firewall configuration, and ACL administration

  
  
• 
  

  Monitor infrastructure and systems to proactively identify issues before service interruptions occur

  
  
• 
  

  Troubleshoot hardware and software issues in-person with end users

  
  
• 
  

  Implement best practices tailored to meet SCN's network and security requirements

  
  
• 
  

  Execute and maintain configuration management across systems

  
  
• 
  

  Ensure compliance with all applicable policies (STIGs, SCN technical orders, etc.)

  
  
• 
  

  Update and maintain documentation for systems, user guidance, policy, and practices

  
  
• 
  

  Provide onsite coverage Monday through Friday during second shift (1400-2200)

  
  
• 
  

  Manage and configure Windows and Linux operating systems

  
  
• 
  

  Key and configure COMSEC equipment

  
  
• 
  

  Demonstrate working knowledge of networking concepts and networking equipment

  
  
• 
  

  Design and implement proactive monitoring/alerting systems to prevent service disruptions

  
  
• 
  

  Automate system administration tasks using scripts (e.g., Bash, Python)

  
  
• 
  

  Update, change, and install new hardware into established systems

  
  

Requirements:

• 
  

  U.S. Citizenship

  
  
• 
  

  Ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret clearance (TS/SCI preferred)

  
  
• 
  

  Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience

  
  
• 
  

  Experience as a System Administrator

  
  
• 
  

  Security+ certification

  
  

Preferred/Desired Experience:

• 
  

  Prior experience supporting SCN or satellite operations at Schriever SFB

  Familiarity with WANIFs, SDRs, and DCC Workstations

  RF networking experience

  Experience as a COMSEC Responsible Officer (CRO)
