A weekend Zebrafish Feeder position is available in the Brigham and Women's Aquatics Facility, located in the Longwood Campus at 221 Longwood Ave. The candidate will share responsibility for the weekend operations of a multiuser, 10,000 tank, state of the art Aquatics Facility.
A weekend Zebrafish Feeder position is available in the Brigham and Women's Aquatics Facility, located in the Longwood Campus at 221 Longwood Ave. The candidate will share responsibility for the weekend operations of a multiuser, 10,000 tank, state of the art Aquatics Facility under the general supervision of the Facility Manager and staff. Duties include zebrafish feeding, monitoring water conditions, colony health, stock maintenance and breeding, and upkeep of the facility. This position requires Saturday and Sunday feedings, often taking 3-4 hours per day. There may be opportunities for additional work throughout the week. This opening is an ideal opportunity for local college students or recent graduates interested in a career in aquaculture, fish husbandry and/or biomedical research. PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The candidate will work under the general supervision of the Facility faculty Manager and staff, and will be expected to independently carry out the daily activities of the aquatics facility which include:
Qualifications High school diploma. Prior aquatics experience is beneficial but is not necessary. Training will be provided. ADDITIONAL SKILLS/ABILITIES/COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:
