We're looking for a dedicated Parts Inventory Specialist to support our Maintenance team. In this crucial role, you'll manage and organize inventory for critical machinery and equipment, ensuring our production lines stay efficient and our ice cream keeps flowing.

The primary function of the Parts Inventory Specialist is to ensure the availability of critical spare parts to support production and minimize downtime. This role involves managing inventory levels, ordering parts, maintaining records, and ensuring proper storage and organization within the maintenance shop.

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:



  • Maintain accurate records of parts inventory, using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) if applicable.

  • Place orders for parts based on demand, minimum/maximum levels, and work orders.



  • Receive new shipments, verify against purchase orders, and store parts in designated locations.



  • Issue parts to maintenance technicians as needed, maintaining accurate records of transactions.



  • Perform regular inventory cycle counts and audits to ensure accuracy and address discrepancies.



  • Maintain accurate records of parts inventory, including location, quantity, cost, and supplier information.



  • Communicate with maintenance personnel, suppliers, and vendors regarding parts availability, orders, and shipments.



  • Address and resolve inventory-related issues, such as shortages, stockouts, or discrepancies.



  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and procedures related to parts handling, storage, and disposal.



  • Propose and implement improvements to inventory management processes to optimize efficiency and reduce costs.




Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:




  • Computer Skills: Proficiency in using CMMS, inventory management software, and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).



  • Organizational Skills: Ability to organize and maintain a clean and efficient parts room.



  • Mathematical Skills: Accuracy in performing calculations related to inventory levels, costs, and quantities.



  • Communication Skills: Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with both internal and external stakeholders.



  • Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to identify and resolve inventory-related problems.



  • Mechanical Aptitude: Understanding of basic mechanical parts and equipment.



  • Customer Service Skills: Providing helpful and efficient service to maintenance personnel.




Education & Experience:




  • High school diploma or equivalent required.



  • Prior experience in inventory management, warehousing, or a similar role, preferably in a manufacturing environment.



  • Experience with CMMS or inventory management software is a plus.



  • Experience in a food manufacturing environment is highly desirable.
