SUMMARY: As the leader of the accounting team, this position oversees closely monitoring the property's financial health through maintaining, managing, and analyzing financial statements, payroll, budgets, tax compliance issues, etc.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES



  1. Ensures compliance with company standards and gaming regulations.
  2. Supervise accounting department personnel.
  3. Oversee accounts payable functions.
  4. Oversee month-end close process.
  5. Preparation of monthly financial statements.
  6. Coordinate monthly department performance reviews
  7. Ensure timely preparation of all general ledger account reconciliations
  8. Analyze various monthly general ledger accounts
  9. Prepare and maintain monthly Sales Tax reports
  10. Ensures all filings are in compliance with state gaming and tax regulations.
  11. Reviews reports relating to the overall performance of the property.
  12. Instructs employees in the proper performance of duties.
  13. Assists in preparation of Corporate assigned documents and spreadsheets.
  14. Supports departmental profit and loss variance reviews and documentation.
  15. Performs other duties as assigned by the Director of Finance.



SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Supervises a small staff of accounting employees. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, hiring and training staff; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

All Employees must be knowledgeable to all Company policies and procedures, including fire and safety regulations. Regular attendance required.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelors' Degree required. Five or more years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Casino or Hospitality experience a plus.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Must possess and be able to maintain the applicable regional Gaming card(s) and/or License(s), if any.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Must be able to effectively communicate in English. Excellent writing skills and analytical mind. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret the most complex of documents such as technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

COMPUTER SKILLS

Extensive use of MS Office products, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Access.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions; ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Standing, Walking, Sitting, Observing. Lifting to 20 lbs.
