What part will you play?
The Director of Business Enterprise Data Architecture is responsible for defining and implementing the organization's enterprise data strategy, ensuring scalable, secure, and high-performance data solutions. This role will lead the design of data frameworks, models, and architectures to support business intelligence, analytics, and operational data needs while ensuring data governance, quality, and integration across platforms.
What will you be doing?
Strategic Leadership & Architecture Design:
* Develop and execute the enterprise data architecture strategy aligned with business objectives.
* Design and implement scalable, secure, and high-performing data architectures that support data warehousing, big data, analytics, and operational applications.
* Define and enforce data modeling, data integration, and data lifecycle management best practices.
* Evaluate emerging technologies, trends, and tools to enhance data capabilities and efficiency.
Team Management:
* Oversee the selection/recruitment, training, and performance management of the centralized analytics team.
* Lead, mentor, and develop a team of data analysts, data scientists, and business intelligence professionals.
* Foster a culture of continuous learning and innovation within the team.
Data Governance & Quality
* Partner with data governance teams to ensure adherence to data quality, security, and compliance standards.
* Establish and maintain metadata management, master data management (MDM), and data lineage frameworks.
* Define standards and policies for data access, security, and retention across on-premise and cloud environments.
Performance Measurement and Optimization:
* Partner with FP&A to establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) in measurement of the effectiveness of analytics initiatives.
* Provide regular updates to executive leadership on the impact of analytics on business outcomes.
Technology & Implementation:
* Oversee the design and optimization of data lakes, data warehouses, and data pipelines to support analytics and AI/ML initiatives.
* Work closely with engineering teams to develop scalable data solutions leveraging cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and modern data architectures (e.g., data mesh, data fabric).
* Define best practices for real-time and batch data processing using Databricks.
* Ensure seamless data integration across enterprise applications, including ERP, CRM, and third-party systems.
Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement
* Work closely with business leaders, IT, and analytics teams to understand data needs and translate them into architectural solutions.
* Act as a thought leader in data architecture, mentoring teams and driving a data-driven culture across the organization.
* Lead enterprise-wide data architecture initiatives, ensuring alignment across departments and projects.
Advanced Analytics and Reporting:
* Oversee the creation and maintenance of dashboards, reports, and data visualizations to provide actionable insights to stakeholders.
* Ensure the timely and accurate delivery of analytics projects.
* Serve as a thought leader in analytics, promoting best practices and fostering a data-driven culture throughout the organization.
* Drive continuous improvement in the organization's analytical capabilities, identifying opportunities for optimization and innovation.
What do we require from you?
Education/Certification/License Requirements
* Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Management, Information Systems, or a related field.
Working Experience
* 10+ years of experience in data architecture, data engineering, or enterprise architecture.
* Strong expertise in designing enterprise data frameworks, cloud data architectures, and modern data platforms.
* Hands-on experience with data modeling, data governance, metadata management, and ETL/ELT pipelines.
* Deep knowledge of cloud-based data platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and database technologies (SQL, NoSQL, GraphDB).
* Proven ability to collaborate with executives, IT teams, and business units to implement data strategies.
* Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
