This position provides sourcing leadership and direction for complex, critical growth categories. This role will have the opportunity to transform both current and new supplier relationships. We aspire to balance quality and price to create a sustainable and reliable supplier network for a highly dynamic business. The key to success is balancing category strategy, project execution and cross- functional alignment to meet business needs.

WHAT YOU WILL EXPERIENCE IN THIS POSITION:
  • Lead all aspects of the sourcing and supply management process for assigned material categories.
  • Perform detailed supply market analysis related to commodities, industries, and suppliers.
  • Develop and execute strategy to ensure a resilient supply chain.
  • Develop and implement long-term commodity strategies to lower total cost of ownership.
  • Reinforce the company's continuous improvement culture that promotes communication, shared learning, intelligent risk-taking, creative problem solving and accountability for failures and successes.
  • Lead and direct value engineering and cross-functional team activities.
  • Lead negotiation of supply agreements that are in line with nVent business strategies with consideration toward quality, timeliness of delivery, pricing, terms, tooling costs and service to ensure the leanest cost.
  • Team with Supplier Development function to handle and mitigate supplier risk, select and develop new suppliers, and categorize existing suppliers with lifecycle strategy.
  • Make recommendations to improve productivity, quality, and efficiency of operations.
  • Coordinate and resolve issues regarding existing and new products.
  • Acts independently to identify and develop supply chain improvement opportunities for a given commodity.
  • Develop and implement supply chain initiatives to achieve competitive advantage and to improve responsiveness to customer demand.
YOU HAVE:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
  • 5+ years of purchasing/supply chain experience preferred. Experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus.
  • Possesses a deep understanding and knowledge base of external commodity markets and potential market impacts to maximize cost opportunities.
  • Experience in contract management.
  • Skilled in analytical, fact-based problem solving.
  • Experience communicating complex and detailed information to multiple individuals and audiences with differing knowledge levels.
  • Skill in conflict resolution including the ability to address difference of opinions or facts and use the most appropriate method to reach an effective solution.
  • Excellent presentation, time management, organizational and interpersonal skills.

Pay Transparency

nVent's pay scale is based on the expected range of base pay for this job and the employee's work location. Employee pay within this range will be based on a combination of factors including knowledge, skills, abilities, experience, education, and performance. Where federal, state, or local minimum wage requirements exist, employee pay will comply.

Compensation Range:

$76,000.00 - $141,100.00

Depending on the position offered, employee may be eligible for other forms of compensation, such as annual incentives.
