The Director Solutions works with the Implementation Director, PMO Director, Operations and other leaders within the Organization to ensure 100% success rate in new business implementations. - Develops exceptional relationships with workstreams across GEODIS such as Implementation Directors, Operations, Business Development, Engineering, Transportation Management, IT, HR, etc., as well as internationally
- Thinks strategically about business opportunities for GEODIS, developing win strategies, providing leadership and guidance to the team that will result in higher new business wins and profitable implementations with a high level of accuracy.
- Articulates the overall winning strategy and the value proposition for a particular business opportunity, defining the vision and leading the team to develop an integrated solution aligned to such strategy
- Drives the Team to develop accurate economic and financial modeling of the proposed Supply Chain solution, identifying potential risks and proposing alternatives to mitigate. Provides expertise and leadership in creating costing / pricing Proformas.
- Teams up with the Implementation Director, PMO Director, Operations and other leaders within the Organization to ensure 100% successful implementations
- Identifies opportunities to increase the efficiency of the Solutions Team through process improvements, training and better technology, building the business case and creating the sense of urgency within the Organization to drive the change
- Engages with clients with a positive and intellectual approach that will build a strong relationship as GEODIS's consulting arm and contract logistics business experts
- Organizes and manages the Core team required to succeed in evaluating and creating a solution that solves the identified pain points of the client and wins for GEODIS financially and strategically
- When functioning as a Core Team Lead, provides direction and leadership to the Team during the Solution and design phase. Collaborates with BD and Implementation Director on progress and requirements to win and successfully implement deals
- Provides coaching and mentoring to Sr. Solutions Managers, Managers and Engineers
- Develops the talent within the Solutions Team to create career path opportunities within GEODIS US and /or internationally
- Participates in the Solutions Technology Advancement Process. Researches technology through traveling to trade shows and performing research. Additionally, builds/fosters supplier relationships to advance this process
- Other duties as required and assigned
What you need: (requirements) Experience
- Bachelor's degree from a 4 year college or university, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Degree is strongly preferred
- Master's Degree in Engineering, Business Management / Administration, Economics or equivalent is strongly preferred
- 10 Years of experience in Supply Chain Industry, with minimum 6 years developing Global Solutions experience
- Knowledge of transportation management, network design, and warehousing design concepts
- Experience in a 3PL environment preferred
- Experience with material handling systems hardware and software
- Experience with operations analysis and design
- Knowledge of labor standards and application
- Knowledge of P&L statements
- PC literate with a command of Microsoft Office products such as Word, Excel and Outlook
- Outstanding leadership skills. Drives the team to excellence and elite performance
- High level of business acumen and strategic thinking
- Ability to work in matrix Organizations
- Ability to build high performing teams and develop talent through coaching and mentoring
- Capacity to manage multiple teams working in projects concurrently
- Exceptional understanding of the economics of solutions and implementations
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manual
- Ability to communicate with various levels of the organization as well as various levels of the customer's organization
- Ability to influence others
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Capable of leading High Complexity engagements and inter-functional work team
