Job Title: Mail & Messenger Driver Location with zip code: Chicago, IL- 60608 Duration: 4 Months Pay rate: $17/hr. on w2 without benefits Job Description: Drivers pick up & drop off vehicles at 2020 W. Roosevelt in Chicago and the drivers spend several hours a day at 555 W. Monroe processing mail. They spend most of the day driving routes in & around Chicago & suburbs and must be able to operate a larger vehicle such as a van. Sorts & delivers mail by routes to various State of IL and US Post Office sites as operations dictate. Performs general mail & messenger duties. Picks up outgoing mail from various state office sites & transports to various state sites & US Post Office as needed. Performs basic upkeep & maintenance duties for the central mailroom & for assigned motor vehicle. Required Qualification: Knowledge, skill, & mental development equivalent to completion of HS. One year of related office experience. Preferred Qualification: One year of professional experience operating larger vehicles in high volume traffic situations. Condition of Employment: Applicant passes background check. Valid driver's license & ability to travel. Ability to lift packages weighing up to 50 lbs. & assist with lifting packages up to 75 lbs.
